What is M.A.N.E. Event?
M.A.N.E. Event (Mustangs at Night’s End) is an all-night, alcohol and drug free, after-prom party, hosted by the
senior class parents. Seniors and their dates will enjoy an evening of fun activities, such as but not limited to:
bowling, billiards, laser tag, arcade games, photo booth, money machine, great music, food and drinks. Prom
will be held on May 9th at the Woodlands Resort, and M.A.N.E. Event will be held immediately following at The
Main Event. Seniors do not have to attend prom to attend the M.A.N.E. Event.
Who is responsible for Prom and After Prom (M.A.N.E. Event)?
Cypress Ranch High School is responsible for Prom date (May 9, 2014) and location (Woodlands Resort).
M.A.N.E. Event is the responsibility of the Class of 2014 parents with an Assistant Principal as liaison.
Why is MANE Event at The Main Event and not the Berry Center like previous years?
At the end of their junior year, the administration polled students on their preference for the location of Prom
and the after-prom. 74% of students wanted Prom held somewhere other than the Berry Center, and 63% of
students wanted the after-prom held somewhere other than the Berry Center.
What was the rationale behind switching locations?
Location!! The Main Event Katy is closer to home than the Woodlands location. With the safety of the students
our first priority, once the Katy location became available it was a logical choice. The students enjoy taking
their limos to and from prom and then gathering at friends’ houses to change clothes before MANE Event. If
MANE Event was in the Woodlands the kids would not be able to do that or they would and then drive back out
to the Woodlands (which is what we wanted to get away from). Also the responsibility of keeping track of all of
the students clothes would fall on MANE Event (the girls dresses, jewelry, shoes, etc. and the boys tuxes,
shirts, shoes, cuff links, etc.).
How will the students get to The Main Event (Katy) and back to Cypress Ranch?
For the safety of all our students, Cypress Ranch is requiring all students ride busses to The Main Event.
Students will not be able to attend MANE Event 2014 if he/she does not ride the bus. Students will
check-in and be searched at Cypress Ranch before boarding the bus. Check-in for MANE Event will be at the
school beginning at 11:30 p.m., and the first round of busses will depart the Cypress Ranch parking lot at
12:00 midnight. All students must check-in by 1:00 a.m. Students cannot attend MANE Event if they do not
ride the busses. Students will be bussed back to Cypress Ranch at 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Will the Cypress Ranch parking lot be monitored while students are at The Main Event?
There will be security provided.
What option is the school going to provide if it is raining the night of MANE Event?
If it rains the night of the after-prom, then check-in will occur in the Commons. Students will load/unload
busses in the bus area, which is covered.
How much does it cost and what does my student need to attend the M.A.N.E. Event?
Cost and needed paperwork will be discussed further as M.A.N.E. Event 2014 approaches.
What does the senior fee include?
This is a Cypress Ranch fee, not a M.A.N.E. Event 2014 fee and includes 1 Prom ticket, senior breakfast, and
a senior gift
