Master Scheduler The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing the master production plan to satisfy customer demand with minimal overtime worked while carrying minimum effective inventory. The qualified individual will be responsible to determine and manage forecast for long range material planning while considering current inventory levels, obsolescence, lead-times, product life cycles and production capacity. This position interfaces and communicates continuously with customer support, production, engineering, warehouse, purchasing and sales. Duties/Responsibilities: Production Planning and scheduling Develop production plans to meet customer demand within production capacity. Daily, weekly, monthly, review of existing and future production planning and budgetary planning preparations. Review monthly sales forecast projections. Maintain master production planning data to best utilize our planning system. Develop and optimize manufacturing work schedules. Ensure that schedules support daily on time shipping performance. Working with the customer support department, ensure that production schedules are meeting both our manufacturing and customer service requirements to properly communicate availability dates Forecast specified raw materials: Working with the purchasing and manufacturing departments, monitor and plan the usage of key raw materials by utilizing MRP systems. Process Monitoring and Management: Participate in the weekly production meetings for each responsible plant. Manage the plants on-time shipping performance to ensure it meets the group's commitment to superior customer service. Monitor plant finished goods inventory levels to ensure they meet all working capital requirements. Manage production capacity constraints and alert necessary team members to issues. Create and monitor purchased items inventory reports, managing purchased finished goods service levels. Alert purchasing to risk situations and requirements. Project and process improvement activities: Proactively seek out opportunities to exceed customer service, working capital, and cost targets. Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to the business as needed. Support the new product development process though participation on NPI teams, work on product introductions, transitions, etc. This position requires: Excellent problem solving, negotiating, and general "people skills" in dealing with external and internal contacts. An individual with a good working knowledge of Warehouse / Shipping and Production Department policies, procedures, and operations. Close attention to detail and proficiency with internal computer systems, including ERP Systems, Advanced Planning Systems, and Microsoft Office. Excellent leadership skills. Excellent written and oral communications skills with particular attention to detail. Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Engineering, or Management Information Systems. 5 years planning, scheduling, or logistics experience is required in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
