POSTION TITLE: Junior Finance Officer REPORTS TO: Finance Manager Level / Grade: 3 OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Junior Finance Officer meets monthly and ad-hoc reporting requirements, and supports the Finance Manager to monitor the overall finance function (including but not limited to recording, documentation, posting, and analysis) of all projects and programs under WA Ethiopia. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for receiving and checking financial documents from suppliers, customers and employees in a regular basis which are under the petty cash threshold; 2. Making sure there is a proper system for the documentation of monthly PVs, JVs, and PCPVs for easy retrial and access; 3. Responsible for the complete documentation and safety of financial documents; 4. In coordination with cashier/storekeeper, conduct month end cash count and quarterly Fixed Asset count and report the same to FM; 5. Support and guide the Cashier in payment of allowances and per diems for trainers/participants in or outside Addis Ababa and summarize and code the expenditures after ensuring completeness of documentations and appropriate authorizations. 6. Monitors and provides analysis of monthly project expenditures to relevant project managers and provide recommendations for achieving value of money; 7. Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly reports to WAUK; 8. Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of reports to be submitted to the Charities and Societies Agency, and any other government reports; 9. Assists the Finance Manager for analysis of control systems pertaining to their effectiveness. This may include but not limited to visit to partner’s offices to perform monitoring and/or training functions; 10. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualification (Know How) A) Education Required: University Degree in Accounting B) Experience Required: 0 – 1 year of work experience 1 C) Technical Skills Required: Good communication skill and appropriate knowledge in accounting. Good skills in computer application preferably in accounting software Ability to act in a professional and ethical manner. Willingness to work under pressure.
