However it also the biancasdanceco@hotmail.com time when students begin to feel the pressure of (780) 905-0303 memorizing and perfecting their choreography, working hard during extra rehearsals and regular classes, and of course Love Page 1 keeping up with their studies. If you’re beginning to feel overwhelmed Staff Page 1 please remember why you’re dancing in the first Rehearsal Page 2 place. Because you love it! All our hard work will soon BDC Wear Page 2 pay off as we approach our Inside This Issue much anticipated festival season. Please keep in mind that February is our last month before festival season which means attendance is crucial! The studio will be closed on Monday February 17th to celebrate the Family Day holiday. All BDC students are to participate in this event! That includes Tiny Tots, Recreational students, and Competitive students. 2. The date is February 18th from 5:00-10:00pm and February 19th from 5:00-10:00pm at Festival Place in Sherwood Park. 3. Please arrive 30 min before your scheduled section. This will allow you enough time to sufficiently stretch and prepare before going on stage. 4. Students must bring all costumes and have their full hair and make-up done. This includes all solo and duet costumes. Information on the studio hair style and make-up was given at the workshop and a tight, shoes, and accessories list for each number was emailed and posted on the bulletin board. 5. This is a closed rehearsal! This means no parents, siblings or friends in the audience. This is so students can receive corrections and constructive criticism without having the pressure of an audience. The exception to this is if you have a child under the age of 10 that needs help changing in and out of different costumes you may sit quietly in the auditorium until your child is done dancing. 6. There are no regular classes at the studio during dress rehearsal. Even if you do not have dress rehearsal both days all BDC teachers will be at the Festival Place Theatre so the studio will be closed February 18th and 19th. * Please no photography or videographey while students are dancing. It is distracting and BDC is filming the entire rehearsal to be viewed in class the week before our first competition. BDC Dance Wear BDC dance wear has been ordered and will arrive in March. Extra leggings were ordered so if you still want a pair they will be available to purchase in March. We would like to encourage all competitive dancers to purchase BDC wear to show unity and represent our studio during the festival/competition season. Attendance February is our last full month of classes before we go into festivals and competitions. We hope that parents and students understand the importance of attendance during this time. Our teachers understand that many students are busy with their studies and lives outside of dance, but would like to remind that both parents and students were aware of the demands of the competitive program when they registered. By missing class you are letting your other group members and your teacher down. Please make sure students are attending all classes, especially choreography classes where the groups were are doing at competition are practiced. Fees Fees, fees, fees, it seems like they never end. We still have outstanding fees that need to be cleared up as soon as possible. Please remember a 10% late fee will be charged per month to any outstanding account. This policy took effect in January. Additionally a late fee of $20 will be applied to each solo or duet that goes unpaid each month. Please remember to pay the individual instructor and not the studio. Any students with unpaid festival or costume fees will not be permitted to attend festivals. There will still be some additional costume fees applied to certain routines as soon as all costumes are completed.
