Friday 25th September 2015 Please see site map and only set up your corral in the designated place. The secretary’s tent will be manned 4-5pm on Friday for hat check and body protector check. The barn will have self-serve hot drinks available throughout the weekend (except when it is being used as the map room) in aid of Headway, a brain injury charity. The barn can also be used to socialise in/ eat in Friday evening should you wish to use it Saturday 26th September Secretary’s tent manned from 8.00 to 11.30 am (hat check and body protector check) and collection of cloth number to wear on MA and PTV only There will be no access to the barn from 7.45 am as it will be used as the map room PTV course walk - there will be a guided course walk at 5pm on Saturday 26 th September when an explanation of each obstacle will be given. You are welcome to walk course out of this time, providing you do not impede any riders who are on the course. Remaining clear of the obstacles quiet and still, as they pass. Headcollar/leadrope or combination bridle Medical armband Horse and rider ID to be attached to the horse, organiser contact numbers, and competitor number. Luggage labels are good for this and can be attached to the saddle Hi VIZ for POR (minimum Hi VIZ on riders body) (You will need a pen, and may find a map case useful on your ride) Please have your horse ready for your MA and PTV times, it is strongly recommended that you attend the PTV course walk. Please present yourself to the stewards at the Fun TREC start trailer at your allotted time – where you will be given a pre drawn map to follow and some questions to answer on route. Please leave SAE with the secretary or money for postage DIRECTIONS TO VENUE There will be bright yellow signs from the B2068 to the venue From M20 Junction 11 (Coast bound) -Take first exit off roundabout onto B2068 and follow this for aprox 6.2 miles -You will pass a Petrol station on your right & a turning to Rhodes Minnis – keep straight on -Turn right off Stone Street (B2068), into the Curtis Lane sign posted for Stelling Minnis. -As you enter the village there is a left turn for the Shop and Pub - go about 10m past this -Turn right onto track. & right again through 5 bar gate into field -Drive diagonally across this field & through another gate and then through two more fields to get to box parking & corralling fields. Please be aware that this route has a steep hill with Z bend on the B2068 TO RETURN HOME via M20 - Drive out of Venue & turn left onto Curtis Lane - At T junction with B2068 – turn left & drive aprox 9 miles towards Hythe - At roundabout take the 4th exit onto M20 to London / Ashford From M2 – Junction 6 Brenley Corner (Coastbound) - At J6 of M2 – at top of slip road – enter roundabout - Take 4th exit at roundabout towards Canterbury/Dover A2 - In approx. 9 miles leave A2 at the Bridge turnoff - this is also signed for Howletts Wildlife Park Then Either ROUTE A (through outskirts of Canterbury, wide roads but with some speed bumps) - At the top of the slip road turn right over the bridge & continue until you get to T junction. - Turn right - This road looks as if it forks take the RIGHT fork to Canterbury (NOT left or you will go back onto the A2) it is sign-posted to “New Dover Road Park & Ride” with a blue “P” sign & Canterbury in very small letters - At roundabout by The Gate Inn, take the second exit – (first one is to Park & Ride) into Old Dover Road - Continue until you get to a set of traffic lights – on the way you will pass St Anslems School & Simon Langton School on your left. - At the traffic lights turn left into Nackington Road (B2068) signposted to Hythe - Continue on B2068 for approx 9 miles - Turn left into Curtis Lane – signposted to Stelling Minnis. -As you enter the village there is a left turn for the Shop and Pub - go about 10m past this -Turn right onto track. & right again through 5 bar gate into field -Drive diagonally across this field & through another gate and then through two more fields to get to box parking & corralling fields. OR ROUTE B – slightly shorter but down a narrower country road At crossroads go straight across into Station Road – follow this lane which become Bridge Road and when you come to a T junction after about 2 miles turn left onto the B2068. Continue on The Stone Street for 7 miles – turn left (Curtis Lane) – signposted to Stelling Minnis. As you enter the village, just past the left turn for the Shop and Pub, turn right onto track. There is a gated entrance to the field on the right which is showground entrance. The route will be signposted from The Stone Street. TO RETURN HOME VIA A2/M2 - Drive out of Venue & turn left onto Curtis Lane - At T junction with B2068 – turn right & drive approx. 9 miles towards Canterbury - At traffic lights turn right into Old Dover Road - At roundabout by Gate Inn take 2nd exit - Follow this road which will become a sliproad for A2 Coastbound – keep on it but keep left - At the top of the slip road turn right over the bridge & continue until you get to T junction. - Turn right - This road looks as if it forks take the LEFT fork to A2 London bound - Drive along A2 towards London/M2/Faversham for approx. 9 miles - At roundabout take 2nd exit onto M2 London bound (1st exit is very small lane) LISTEN TO LOCAL RADIO – IF “OPERATION STACK” IS IN PLACE TAKE THE M2/A2 ROUTE as they use the M20 as a lorry park for Dover Docks.
