PUBLIC NOTICE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL A260 WHITE HORSE HILL ROUNDABOUT, HAWKINGE (TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2014 Because of modifications and improvements to the roundabout, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict and prohibit traffic on roads in the vicinity of A260 White Horse Hill Roundabout, Hawkinge. White Horse Hill will be closed in both directions at the northern junction with White Horse Hill Roundabout. A continuous closure is planned to commence from 6 May 2014 for up to 7 weeks or until the works have been completed. The alternative through route is via A260 Spitfire Way and Canterbury Road. A local diversion to reach Hawkinge is via Swann Way, Heron Forstall Avenue and Uphill. In the interests of road safety, a temporary mandatory speed limit of 40 mph will be imposed in both directions on A260 Spitfire Way, White Horse Hill and Canterbury Road from the existing 40 mph / National Speed Limit sign south-eastwards to a point to the south of the junction with Alkham Valley Road, as signposted on site. Due to the nature of these works, the restrictions will remain in force outside the working hours.
