Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Communications, assist in the delivery of communications
activities, which safeguard the reputation and raise the profile of the Airport and its
partners.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
a) Identify and deliver programmes to enhance the Airport’s reputation and
profile across all markets.
b) Draft press releases, statements and editorial and effectively distribute them
and monitor coverage.
c) Work across the Airport site, generate good news stories and successfully
deliver them across multi-media channels.
d) Deal with the media in a timely, efficient and professional manner, responding
to media requests within required deadlines.
e) Arrange, and occasionally deliver, media interviews and produce briefing
material to ensure consistency of key message.
f) Take a proactive role in crisis and issues management.
g) Take part in the Press Office out-of-hours on-call rota, act as the Company
media representative.
h) Arrange and escort photographers, TV, film and radio crews around the
Airport site when necessary.
i) Assist in the production of the staff newsletter and other internal
communications duties when necessary.
j) Arrange media events and press conferences on and off-site to deliver
announcements and media briefings.
k) Manage image requests received via the Company website.

l) Have a sound understanding of the benefits and dangers of social media and
lead on the Airport’s social media strategy to develop and monitor activity that
demonstrates ROI.
m) Manage the Company’s social media agency to deliver social media
campaigns that are integrated with other Marcoms activities, whilst keeping
abreast with trends and best practise.
n) To lead in the production of video material, including developing the brief,
managing crews and uploading content on digital channels (e.g. YouTube, the
Airport’s website, Facebook, Twitter etc).
o) Upload content onto the Airport’s website, intranet and other industry
membership sites.
p) Support other Airport departments with stakeholder engagement activity when
needed, including corporate and political events and CSR programmes.
q) Develop relationships with airline and commercial partners and other external
stakeholders, and identify opportunities to enhance the Airport’s profile.
r) To participate in emergency duties and undertake occasional out-ofhours/weekend working, as well as taking part in the Press Office on-call rota.
s) To support other departments and carry out other duties commensurate with
the grading of the post which may be determined from time to time.
To undertake such other duties commensurate with the grading of the post, which will be
determined from time to time, in line with the needs of the business.
The Airport Company reserves the right to vary the duties and responsibilities of staff
under Conditions prescribed in local agreements. Thus, it must be appreciated that
the above duties may be altered as the future changing needs of the service may
require.
