ATTACHMENT D RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA September 22, 2015 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 90-96 the Board of Supervisors created the John Wayne Airport Arts Commission to advise and make recommendations to the Airport Director and this Board regarding the development and administration of the Airport Arts Program; and WHEREAS, the membership of the John Wayne Airport Arts Commission is comprised of five members, each of whom is appointed by this Board and is an Orange County resident, and; WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to clarify the supervisorial district residency requirements for the John Wayne Airport Arts Commission, and; WHEREAS, accessing the broadest experienced pool of candidates to serve on the Commission is good governance for the people of Orange County; and WHEREAS, a Supervisor, with the written consent of the Supervisor in whose district the nominee resides, may nominate a member to the John Wayne Airport Arts Commission who does not reside in that Supervisor’s district; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. The John Wayne Airport Arts Commission at its next regularly scheduled meeting or as soon thereafter as reasonably practicable, is directed to amend its bylaws to clarify that each Board office may nominate a prospective member of the Commission, and that the nominee must be a resident of the County of Orange, but may reside outside of the supervisorial district of the Supervisor who recommended him or her, provided the written consent of the Supervisor in whose district the nominee resides is obtained.
