VILLAGE BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 2014 Mayor Mike VandeVelde presiding MEMBERS: Mike Catalano, Rob Cochran, Debra Puckhaber OTHERS: William H. Bills, Ann Kneer, William F. Christ MAYOR HOMECOMING PARADE The School has requested authorization to have a Homecoming Parade and to use the Fire Dept trucks at the Parade. Chief Bills noted he was aware of that request and it is fine. The motion to allow use of the fire Trucks for the Homecoming Parade by Trustee Catalano, seconded by Trustee Cochran and was carried unanimously. HALLOWEEN HOURS The hours set for Halloween will be 6-8:30 p.m. which the board approved on a motion made by Trustee Puckhaber, seconded by Trustee Catalano and was carried unanimously. FIRE DEPARTMENT PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM APPROVAL The board made a motion to move forward with the Permissive Referendum for the Fire Department Overhead Doors by Trustee Cochran, seconded by Trustee Puckhaber and was carried unanimously. TRAINING Chief Bills noted that the NYS Fire Chiefs Association is offering Backdraft Simulation Training this year in Sunset Bay and he is aware of three or four firemen that are interested in attending this training. The Board made a motion to approve attendance at this Training by Trustee Puckhaber, seconded by Trustee Catalano and was carried unanimously. Chief Bills further noted that on October 18th Portland Fire Department is sponsoring live fire training in a vacant house on Pratt Road. The Fire Chief in Portland suggested Westfield Fire Department support the effort with a ladder truck and anyone and everyone in the department that is able to come it is free of charge. The motion was made by Trustee Catalano, seconded by Trustee Cochran and was carried unanimously that the firemen be allowed to attend the Fire Training on October 18th in Portland. There being no further business to come before the board the meeting was adjourned on a motion made by Trustee Cochran, seconded by Trustee Puckhaber and was carried unanimously.
