Job Description Job Title: Internal Communications Manager Submit Resume to: Recruiting@spe.org SUMMARY The Internal Communications Manager role is responsible for enhancing the flow of information across the company, increasing the presence of senior staff in employee communication, and assisting with employee engagement through improved communications. This position will work with HR and members of the Executive Team on messaging and managing changes within the organization through employee communications. The Internal Communications Manager will assist other managers in understanding appropriate information to share and encouraging them to regularly communicate via the intranet and other channels. This position also has primary responsibility for the company’s intranet. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop and implement global internal communications strategy to build employee engagement and increase alignment and execution of the organization’s strategic priorities Ensures delivery of regular communications for all staff through a range of channels, ensuring ease of access to communications, clarity and consistency of messaging Collaborate and engage with company leadership to understand business objectives and deliver appropriate internal communication content Works closely with Human Resources and the Executive Team on enhancing communication and employee engagement. Devise and deliver accurate, timely, creative, and engaging communications that have a positive impact on the flow of information through the organization and on employee engagement Lead redevelopment of SPE’s intranet (SPEnet), enhancing its utility to staff, and encouraging staff usage and engagement; oversee ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the intranet Works with managers and team leaders globally to identify appropriate communications to keep staff informed, and helps to educate those leaders about when and how best to communicate for effectiveness Develops feedback channels throughout the organization to gauge the effectiveness of different approaches and channels of communication Assists in managing change through delivery of key messages and assessing the impact of communications. Identifies and reports measures of communication effectiveness and engagement Evaluate and recommend appropriate changes for the current staff newsletter (monthly Staff Brief) as the new intranet begins to change internal communication Increase usage of video, gamification, and other engagement tools for internal communications Support senior leadership visibility in internal communications SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field with 5-7 years’ experience QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Job Description To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
