St Bartholomew’s Christmas Tree Festival
4th to 14th December 2015
I would like to invite you to take part in this year’s Christmas Tree Festival. Last year we had some
spectacular entries and we’re hoping to make this years festival even bigger and better!
The theme this year is the Carol – ’The Holly and the Ivy. This is free for your own
interpretation. You can decorate a tree with any images from the words of the carol but if it really
doesn’t appeal feel free to make your own creation.
The Grand Opening of the festival is on Friday 4th December. As in previous years, this coincides
with the switching on of the town’s festive when Corsham will be full of people. We will announce
the winners of the 3 categories, Children’s group, Local business, Local club or society, on the stage
outside the Town Hall after the lights have been switched on – around 6pm. Mulled wine and
mince pies will be served in the church during the evening and visitors will be able to vote for ‘The
People’s Choice’.
We are extremely grateful to Corsham Town Council who have very kindly offered to donate a
large Christmas tree which will be displayed inside the church until Christmas.
There is no charge for displaying a tree. All we ask is that you:




Provide your own tree and stand.
Ensure that your entry is no larger than about 4 foot.
Deliver and collect your entry at the designated times – see below.
Let your imagination and creative talents run riot. There will be electricity provided for all
entrants – so do feel free to use lights.
We are particularly keen that you use this opportunity to advertise your school / society /
business, so please feel free to leave leaflets or further information by your tree in order to recruit
more members or indeed generate more business for your company.
