Kate reports that she is also enjoying the kids with their conversations. She finds it fun to listen to them talk to each other and to her. The class has come together in so many ways. They can focus and can pay attention. They are passionate and excited. She can see them progressing a lot. 8. Treasurer – Allison Allison reported that the reports were sent out via email. We are substantially ahead of where we were this time last year. There are still some stragglers getting their money in with the Chinook Books. The company has been a bit more lenient than Mary Kate expected, so this fundraiser can keep going for a week or so more. Mary Kate hoped that everyone got there Art Cards information in that wanted to participate. She apologized for the short notice, but the fundraiser came together really fast and unexpectedly. The Glazed and Amazed fundraiser is still going on. We have until the 23rd to use the coupons. A percentage of your purchase will go towards your fundraising commitment. There are still a lot of people that need to fulfill their commitments. Families can email Mary Kate to find out where you are at in your fundraising commitment. Another option is to pay $50 in lieu of fundraising. Sooner is better than later. Glazed and Amazed is the last fundraiser for this year. Our fundraising income numbers are still coming in. Mary Kate will touch base with us in January. The next fundraiser will not be until March or April with a Dinner Night Out and silent auction. Details will follow. If Members can contribute to the auction, the Fundraising Committee will start collecting items at the beginning of year. Members can also donate an experience as well as an alternative to a tangible item. 11. Marketing – Lisa P. Lisa reported that Open House will be Friday, January 6th. If you know anyone that will be looking for a preschool, get the word out. Lisa will put a packet in everyone’s folders that will have postcards and handbills to be distributed. The teachers have been working on snack guidelines. A couple of things that have come out of this is to leave string cheese as is so the kids that can pull it apart. Be aware that coconut could be an allergy for those with nut allergies. Apples should be peeled and in thin slices. Peel can be okay if sliced thin enough, for example cut with a mandolin. 13. Newsletter– David The November newsletter was emailed out this week. Please let David know if you are not getting it. If there is anything you want in the newsletter, let him know. Please feel free to add content by emailing David. 14. Snack Update from Teacher Meeting – Connie and Margo As mentioned earlier, please keep string cheese whole. A reminder that no snacks containing nuts are to be in the classroom. In the 3’s class, there are to be no melons. If a child has special snack, label it and put in the snack cupboard. If you need help, ask for help. Circle time after snack needs more parents available, so please engage and only help out the snack parent as needed. 15. Announcements – Elizabeth No December parent meeting. Open house is from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, January 6th. The time may get changed to a 12:30 start time due to having class that day. We need to start thinking about planning for next year’s Board Members. Think about it! It is fun. It is a great way to have a larger voice and be a bigger part of your child’s education. Mid- year cleaning will be happening at the end of January or beginning of February. The 4’s class does mid-year cleaning. The 2’s and 3’s classes do the end of the year cleaning. Coop Temperature reading: The Board has not gotten as many responses as we would like. The Board really wants a sense as to how things are going for everyone. The Board appreciates receiving feedback on issues that are current. The Board will send out an email report to the membership. Please fill one out and put the completed surveys in the folders for the respective classes. Texting is an issue that has come about with peers. Please keep phone use to a minimum.
