Job Description Fegans is a Christian charity that brings hope to the lives of children, families and communities. We do this through life transforming counselling, restorative family and parent support, providing safe environments for at risk children and their parents and building communities through culture changing programs. We are looking for a part-time Marketing Assistant to work in our Head Office in Tunbridge Wells. JOB TITLE: Marketing Assistant LOCATION: Tunbridge Wells HOURS: 15 hours per week. Term Time Only SALARY: £7.85 per hour (plus holiday enhancement) REPORTING TO: Head of Communications DURATION: Permanent PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To help increase the charity’s profile and maximise impact by generating engaging content and communicating highly targeted messages to key audiences via all relevant communications channels. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Marketing Support • To maintain, develop and create content for the Fegans website using Google Analytics to monitor and improve performance. • To utilise the CRM database and Mailchimp for targeted mailings and reporting as required. • To manage the charity’s news feeds and maintain and promote Fegans’ social media profile, in particular through Facebook YouTube, Google+, LinkedIn, HootSuite and Twitter. • To write copy and proof read for a variety of purposes including internal and external literature, ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to. • To manage deadlines and communicate these across departments and external agencies. • To provide administrative support for the effective planning and smooth running of exhibitions and fundraising events. • To encourage the generation of news from all departments. Collating, editing and writing content for e-newsletters and for ad hoc requests such as leaflets, websites and articles. • To develop good relationships with all relevant stakeholders and identify methods of remaining cost effective in a marketing capacity. • To build and consolidate local, regional and national media contacts for the promotion of the charity, maximising media coverage. General • To be committed to the work and ethos of Fegans, and to promote and uphold its good name and reputation. • To seek to be trained to a high standard by undertaking training and development as required. • To understand the role of safeguarding within Fegans, to attend Local Authority safeguarding training and to follow organisational policies and procedures when safeguarding issues arise. • To maintain client confidentiality where applicable. • To attend Fegans' Staff Days. • To comply with any other request that Fegans may reasonably make of you in relation to the role, and the organisation as a whole. This may include, but is not necessarily exclusive to, requests for evaluation and feedback, material for publicity purposes, and items for prayer to be circulated to our prayer partners. PERSON PROFILE: Essential • A demonstrable passion and heart for children and families. • An ability to engage with people at all levels, and work as part of a team. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient IT skills. Desirable • Hold a recognised marketing related qualification. • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of marketing and / or fundraising. • Understanding and experience of digital marketing, in particular, social media.
