CLC (Caterpillar Latino Connection) and CAAN (Caterpillar African American Network) are proud to
extend an invitation to 8 enthusiastic University of California at San Diego IDEAS college students
to participate in our “Shadow Day” event. The selected college students will have an opportunity to
attend one of our two San Diego facilities.
CLC and CAAN are employee affinity groups that have been recognized by Solar as an
independent, voluntary, nonprofit group of employees who share common interests and an
approved business purpose.
During this event, students will have the opportunity to follow an engineer and experience a typical
workday at Solar Turbines. The event will take place on November 19th, 2015 at two of our
facilities, Harbor Drive and Kearny Mesa, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. (See enclosure for the list of
participating departments).
All participating students are required to dress appropriately by wearing long pants and closed-toe
shoes. Students who do not comply with these rules will not be permitted on the premises.
CLC and CAAN are looking forward to hosting your students and building a stronger relationship
with the MEP/MESA Program. Please provide a list of students by Friday, November 1st. Feel free
to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Samantha Caldwell
