Facilities
Indoor, Heated, 8 lane 50 meter pool with non-turbulent lane ropes. Pool
depth: 16 feet in deep end 4 feet in shallow end. All races will take start
in the deep end. Separate warm up area is available outdoor during the
meet. The competition course has been certified in accordance with USA
Swimming Technical Rule 104.2.2C(4). The copy of such certification is
on file with USA Swimming.
Timing
Colorado automatic timing system with touch pads will be the primary
system. Secondary system will be manual/ electronic with 1 button and 1
digital watch per lane.
Rules
Conduct of this sanctioned meet shall conform in every respect to all
technical and administrative rules of USA Swimming and Louisiana
Swimming.
At a sanctioned competitive event, USA Swimming athlete members must
be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member-coach during
warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet
Referee shall assist the athlete in making arrangements for such
supervision.
Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming
member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must
start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a
member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s
legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
All meet directors, referees, starters, stroke and turn judges, and other
deck officials serving in an official capacity must be members of USA
Swimming and Louisiana Swimming, have a current USA Swimming
Background Check and have completed the Athlete Protection Training
Course.
All coaches and officials MUST constantly display their current USA
Swimming credential or be prepared to present their USA Swimming ID
card as proof of their registration to the Meet Director or designee at any
time. The Meet Referee reserves the right to ask for coach credential
display and/or deny deck access if coach does not comply or card is no
longer valid/current.
Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not
permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms.
It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming and Louisiana
Swimming, Inc. shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages
arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of this meet.
Officials
All currently certified and in training USA Swimming officials are cordially
invited to participate.
Disability
Swimmers with a disability as described in the USA Swimming technical
rules, Article 105, shall be permitted to enter any meet sanctioned by
Louisiana Swimming Inc.
Eligibility
The meet is open to 2015 USA Swimming registered swimmers.
Swimmer’s age as of May 29, 2015 determines age for the meet. No
entrant will be permitted to compete unless the entrant is a member of
USA Swimming as provided in Article 302.
Limit of
Events
Each swimmer may enter up to two (2) events on Friday.
Each swimmer may enter up to three (3) events on Saturday and Sunday.
Meet management reserves the right to limit the meet size to comply with
Louisiana Swimming, Inc.'s four-hour rule for Friday night, Saturday
prelims and Sunday prelims. Saturday and Sunday 12 & under afternoon
sessions will be limited to no longer than 3 hours. 12 & under session will
be limited to a maximum of 250 swimmers. Meet management reserves
the right to limit the number of entries per event. If entries in a particular
event are limited, meet management will use the criteria of fastest entry
(seed) times.
Every effort will be made to accommodate entries received. If entries are
limited, meet management will use the criteria of first received basis. All
entries received after this time will be promptly returned. All teams will be
notified of any such limitations or changes.
The 400 IM and 400 Free will be limited to top 32 swimmer entries for
male and female. The 12 & Under 200 IM and 200 Free will be limited to
the top 40 swimmer entries for male and female.
Conduct
All prelim events will be swum slowest to fastest, with the final three heats
circle seeded. Swimmers will be seeded by time. Positive check-in
required for 400 IM and 400 Free. All 12 & under events will be Time
Final events swum slowest to fastest.
Finals Conduct will be as follows:
13-14- Seeded 1-8, 9-16 (A & B Finals)
15 & Over- Seeded 1-8, 9-16 (A & B Finals)
Swimmers will have 30 minutes to announce intention to scratch from
finals announcements. There will be no penalty for missing a finals.
Scoring
Top sixteen places will be scored.
Awards
Medals will be awarded for first through third place 10 & under and 11-12
individual events for boys and girls. Ribbons will be awarded for fourth
through eighth place for all individual events, 10 & under and 11-12.
Warm-up
Preliminary and 12 & under sessions will have two 25 minute warm-up
sessions with assigned lanes. Friday evening and Finals sessions will be
one 40 minute open warm-ups.
Flyover
Starts
Morning preliminary swimmers should remain in the pool after completing
their race until the next race has begun, then quickly exit the pool. Flyover
starts will not be used for 12 & under sessions and finals.
Changing
Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of
swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not
permitted.
Timers
Each team entering this meet will be required to supply timers based on
the number of entries submitted.
Hospitality There will be a hospitality room available for coaches and officials
only. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided on all days with the
exception of dinner only Friday night.
Entry Fees $3.50 per event and $10.00 swimmer surcharge; Make check payable to
Swim New Orleans, d/b/a Nu Wave Swim Club. Late entries will be
accepted at the discretion of the meet director, and will cost $7.00
per individual event.
