Daily Announcements: November, 2013 NOTE: This list includes Announcements read at the start of each class day. If you do not see a specific announcement on a certain day, please check previous days. Daily Announcements are often repeated for a period of time following their original announcement; however, this list will not repeat all announcements of every day if an announcement is already listed on another day. 11/01/2013 Attention please: All students who will be taking the SAT reasoning test this Saturday, November 2, 2013. Please be advised that the tests will be given in the Academy Building. The doors will open at 7:50 am and the testing begins promptly at 8:30 am. You should be finished by 1:30 pm. Please plan to arrive by 7:45 am. Please check the rosters posted on the bulletin board at the top of the main staircase in the Low vocational building or on the bulletin board across the hall from the Career Center for your room assignments. Please be aware if you don’t see your name on the list, please see Mr. Vaccarezza in the Senior Office. It is important to check the rosters since your room assignment will be indicated there. The College Board has asked us to make the following announcements concerning cell phone policy. Cell phones are prohibited; students should not bring cell phones to the test center. If a student brings a phone and it makes any noise or if a student is seen using a phone at any time, including breaks, the student will be dismissed immediately and their scores will be cancelled by the College Board. This policy also includes: pagers, watch alarms, personal digital assistants or any other digital and/or electronic equipment. The only electronic device allowed is an acceptable calculator. Please check collegeboard.com under “What to Bring” to see what is an acceptable calculator as well as to see what you need to have on testing day. You need to bring your admission ticket (which must meet all requirements), #2 pencils and a photo identification. Snacks and water are permitted to be consumed during breaks only. Do not bring coffee or other types of drinks into the testing building. Very important: Students without a legitimate Photo Identification will not be permitted to take the SAT. Licenses and official picture IDs will be acceptable. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Vaccarezza in the Senior Office as soon as possible. Friday November 1, 2013 Boys and Girls Cross Country will host the The Walter Roberts Annual JV vs. Faculty XC Race beginning at 3:30 Varsity football will travel to Merrimack and begin at 7:00 Saturday November 2 Girls varsity soccer will host Nashua North in the quarter finals in the NHIAA post season tournament, beginning at 2:00 Boys and girls cross country will travel to mines falls park for the meet of champions. The girls will begin at 2:30 and the boys will begin at 3:20. Sunday November 3 Varsity Field Hockey plays in the NHIAA Championship game, beginning at 5:00 at Bedford High School JV and Varsity Cheerleading will travel to concord for the capital city competition. JV begins at 9:55 and varsity is at 11:50 (I will text you tonight and let you know if soccer wins today which if they do could you add this to Sunday’s schedule: Boys Varsity soccer will play in the quarter finals of the NHIAA post season tournament, beginning at 2:00) There will be a PALS meeting Tuesday, Nov. 5th in the Academy Building Lecture Hall at 2:20. BKM PHOTO WILL BE HERE FROM APROXIMATLEY 10:15AM -2:00PM AND WILL BE ON THE STAGE IN THE STOCKBRIDGE THEATRE. STUDENTS MAY GO THERE DURING THEIR STUDY WITH A PASS FROM THEIR STUDY HALL TEACHER OR DURING THEIR LUNCH PERIOD BUT WILL NEED A PASS FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER TO GET BACK TO LUNCH. PITURE RETAKE FORMS ARE LOCATED IN THE SHEPARD OFFICE. Want to learn about pennies and how to make them golden? This year’s annual Dinner Dance will be held on Thursday, November 7 from 6:30 to around 9. All Pinkerton faculty, staff and students are welcome and are encouraged to bring their families. We start the evening in the Shepard Cafeteria enjoying a pot luck buffet consisting of dishes from all over the world. Then we learn salsa dancing from Mr. Rosado and later, folk dances from all over the world from a professional dance teacher. The event is hosted by the International Club, the American Sign Language Club and the Spanish Club. Come along, bring a favorite main dish or dessert to share and join in the dancing – we hope to see you there! FBLA MEMBERS: HERE IS A REMINDER THAT YOU CAN START BRINGING IN CANNED FOODS AND TABS TO ROOM 5225 AND LEAVE THEM IN THE BIN IN THE BACK OF THE ROOM.
