Oak Tree Surgery Patient Newsletter Winter 2015 We would like to warmly welcome our new staff members Jackie Curtis-Bates and Alison Anderson who have both joined the nursing team. Jackie will undertake general nursing duties such as dressings, injections, removal of stiches and smears, as well as specialist clinics for baby and child vaccinations. Alison is an experienced research nurse who is joining us as we become a research specialist Practice, giving us access to the latest ideas in disease therapy while giving our patients the opportunity to get involved in important global studies. Charity event information The toy appeal has been a big success and we have collected hundreds of toys, which we are in the process of wrapping and then they will be donated to the Liskeard/Looe foodbank who will distribute them to local families in need. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated toys and donated/purchased books from our book sale. The book sale has raised £243.08 to date (which we have spent on new toys for the appeal). We have had £20 Mothercare and £15 Trago vouchers donated following letters sent out to local companies, which have also been used to buy toys for the appeal. We will be collecting new toys until 7th December if you would like to donate. The Macmillan coffee morning was also a big success and raised an impressive £440 for Macmillan! Thank you to our patient group for all their hard work in organising this. If you are interested in joining our patient group please ask at reception or contact our Practice Manager Liz Delbridge. The group meets on a bi-monthly basis at the surgery and are always keen to welcome new members. It is an opportunity to help the Practice develop their healthcare services for all patients.
