Clinic in Advance of Charitable Drive Series

July 13 soccer equipment collection at Gillette Stadium
WHO:
New England Revolution star players Jerry Bengtson and Jose Goncalves; 60 Project GOAL middle-school
students; and members of the Revolution’s Youth Academy.
WHAT:
New England Revolution stars will lead a soccer clinic for 60 Project GOAL middle-school students to help kick
off the team’s upcoming charitable drive series – which launches its first of three collections on July 13 before
the Revs home game against the Houston Dynamo, where fans will be asked to donate new or gently-used
soccer equipment at Gillette Stadium.
Project GOAL – a Rhode Island-based program committed to the development of the state’s disadvantaged
youth through after-school tutoring and soccer-related programs – will be the beneficiary of the items
collected on July 13, using the equipment for their soccer-related activities.
In addition to learning basic soccer skills like dribbling and shooting from Bengtson and Goncalves, the aspiring
Project GOAL athletes will showcase their generosity on Wednesday by bringing donated equipment of their
own to the clinic in advance of the official collection on Saturday.
