1. Changes to membership
1.1 Phil Band has resigned.
1.2 Susan Bray was welcomed.
2. Notes of meeting held on Nov 12th 2015: approved
3. Matters Arising
3.1 Broadmoor Farm: Tina sent a riposte to the Observer local paper, which was published,
correcting their misleading article and stating Port View is interested in having surgery
space there. Tina will resend the spec for surgery space to D Yates.

4. Patient Survey
Minor changes to this were tabled by Tina and discussed. Agreed to insert a time frame for
both questions (e.g. have you used OOH since…) to avoid getting historic data. Geoff had
asked for practice logo and for Tina’s name to be inserted. There is no logo. Tina tried
letter-head but then survey would not fit on one page. She will add her name. Tina will run
the survey next week.
5. Practice report
5.1 Friends and Families test: Tina gave a verbal report. No-one completed it in Dec.
5.2 Information on the website concerning people’s medical history has caused difficulty for
children within families regarding privacy for the child. This facility is being switched off
for all children aged 11-16. Those children need to be registered separately.
6. Dementia Voice group survey
6.1 Tina sent out the survey for those on their dementia register excepting those in nursing
homes (i.e. sent to 42 people). Four returns so far.
6.2 The Dementia Voice group is meeting tonight.
6.3 The open afternoon in Dec was well attended with many informative stories being told.
More people are sought who could form a group meeting regularly to discuss concerns.
6.4 Tina offered space on a notice board in the waiting room for the dementia group (and
for the PPG itself).
7. Umbrella Group
7.1 The group met in Dec and Peter attended.
7.2 Children’s mental health: Dr Woodgate consultant child psychiatrist will address next
meeting. Peter and Jane will attend. A very poor service is provided for children with
mental health difficulties, especially eating disorders. GPs are having to care for young
people with eating disorders as a specialist service is virtually non-existent. This is of
serious concern. Peter will take these and any other concerns to the meeting.
7.3 Patient Leadership course. This is on offer and details were tabled. Anyone is free to
apply if interested.
7.4 There is a ‘Living Well’ project running in East Cornwall. Mainly provides befriending
and supporting and helps with social isolation. Self referrals and GP referrals can be
made. Data were tabled showing extent of referrals by GPs in East Cornwall. It is a
popular service. The co-ordinator attends meeting with the Practice.
8. Any Other Business
8.1 Gail mentioned she had further difficulty with repeat prescription lists but has now
solved it.
8.2 Lisa mentioned that there are insufficient leaflets in the waiting room concerning drugs
and alcohol. Tina will address this.
