Evaluate the changing nature of law and its relation to social conditions at the time. 3. Assess how identity is shaped by a variety of factors. 4. Describe how different forms of artistic expression reflect the society in which they are produced. 5. Construct, interpret, and use graphs, tables, grids, scales, legends, contours, and various types of maps. Skills Goals 1. Select and summarize information from primary and secondary print and non-print sources, including electronic sources. 2. Plan, revise, and deliver formal oral and written presentations. Part 1: In groups of 5 five you will research one of the topics listed below and create a PowerPoint presentation utilizing Google Slides. Each member of the group will be responsible for the creation of 2-3 slides. You can decide amongst yourselves how to split up the work. One idea is to divide the topic with the learning goals listed above. Topics: 1. How were women affected by the English Civil War? In what ways did women participate in the English Civil War? What was the role of Puritans in the English Civil War? Textbook pg. 26-27, 36 6. What was the New Model Army and what was its role in the English Civil War? Textbook pg. 35-36 Ms. Miller Social Studies 9: The English Civil War Part 2: Write a 1-2 page reflection explaining your role in the project. Follow the format for your report listed below. Be sure to answer all of the guiding questions in your essay. You will need to cite your sources in your report. Each member of your group must write their own reflection. 1. Introduction: What is your group project topic? What part of the topic did you tackle? Why did you choose this part? How did you research the topic? 2. Body Paragraph 1: What have you learned about your topic? (hint: include #1-4 of the unit project learning goals listed above) 3. Body Paragraph 2: How did your research contribute to your group? 4. Body Paragraph 3: What did you like about the process of creating this project? What did you not like? 5. Conclusion: Summarize your main points here. Take 1-2 main ideas from each of your above paragraphs and rewrite them in your conclusion. 6. Bibliography: Using Easybib.com create a bibliography and include it at the end of your report. Part 3: As a group you will present your topic in a PowerPoint presentation to the class. Your presentation will be 5-8 minutes long. Each member of your group will speak for roughly 1.5 minutes. PowerPoint Organization Your group PowerPoint follows a logical order with fluid transitions between topics. Your group PowerPoint is fairly well organized, however, your topic sections could be more defined. One or more aspects of your group PowerPoint is unclear or incohesive.
