Section 2a – Stud Cattle
Entry Fees
$22.00 (incl.GST) per entry for single animal classes
$5.50 (incl.GST) per entry (breeders group)

RULES & REGULATIONS
In addition to the Rules & Regulations listed at the front of the schedule, the
following will apply to the stud cattle section.
1. All cattle (except led steers) must be stalled for NLIS scanning by 5.00
pm Thursday with a copy of NVD/Waybill provided.
2. Stud Cattle will be judged Friday starting at 8.00 am.
3. Led steers /heifers will be NLIS scanned, weighed and mouthed at 3pm
Friday.
4. Junior Judging will commence at approximately 9am on Saturday.
5. Led steer or heifer judging will commence at approximately 5:30 pm on
Friday followed by the Interbreed Championships.
6. All Stalls are allocated by the Chief Steward. Please contact steward for
your locations on arrival.
7. All cattle must remain stalled until 3pm on Saturday. Any request to leave
early must be received in writing by the Roma Show Society Inc. seven days
prior to judging day and will be considered on merit.
8. All trucks and property of exhibitors must be removed from the area of
the cattle stalls from 7am to 6 pm Friday and from 8am to 3pm Saturday.
9. At no time must trucks be left on the loading ramps.
10. In all cases where registered stock is exhibited, Herd Book Certificates
must be available for inspection by the Stewards.
11. The Roma Show Society Inc. reserves the right, if it so chooses, to
transfer an animal from a class in which it has been entered but for which
on judging day it is ineligible to compete, to a class for which it is or has
become eligible to win.
12. In the event of the Judge declaring that the exhibits in any class or
championship are not worth of the prize, no prize will be awarded.
13. All partnership cattle must be entered and exhibited as such.
14. All bulls over 12 months must be fitted with a permanent nose ring. All
females over 12 months of age must be fitted with a nose grip or permanent
nose ring.
15. No drug, hormone or tranquilizer shall be administered to any animal
exhibit except under the direction of the Association's Veterinary Surgeon
who shall advise the Steward if in his opinion such drug, hormone or
tranquilizer is likely to have any effect upon the animal which would be
material to its chances of being awarded a prize and in such case the
Stewards may debar the animal from competing.
A steward may at any time direct the Association's Veterinary Surgeons to
take a sample of blood, saliva or urine from an exhibit for testing.
16. The age of the cattle shall be the actual age in calendar months up to the
1st of May in the year of the show.
17. All females 2 years and over must be in calf or have a calf at foot.
18. An animal shown on its mother is not eligible to shown on its own in a
single class.
19. A dehorned beast is not eligible for entry in any Poll Class as a Stud
exhibit except in Exotic and European Classes.
20. All leaders must be seven years of age or older.
21. Breeders Group - A group of three animals owned & bred by the
exhibitor and paraded in their single class. Both sexes to be represented

Roma Show Society Inc. ribbons will be awarded to the first three places in all
individual classes.
Broad ribbons will be awarded to all Champions and Reserve Champions.
Prize money will be awarded to all Champions.
Sponsored trophies and/or prize money will be awarded to all Interbreed
Champions and Most Successful Exhibitors (British, European and Tropical
Breeds)
Tropical Breeds: Brahman, Santa Gertrudis, Charbray,
Simbrah, Braford, Sahiwal, Droughtmaster, Brangus.
European Breeds: Simmental, Charolais, Blonde d`Aquataine,
Romagnola, Mane-Anjou, Saler, Limousin, Chianina,
Gelbvieh.
British Breeds: Hereford, Poll Hereford, Shorthorn, Angus, South Devon, Murray

Rules & Regulations
1. Led Steer/heifer judging will take place on Friday evening.
2. Steers/Heifer to be of any breeding and with milk teeth.
3. All animals to be weighed and mouthed 3pm Friday 10th May
4. Entries must be led with nose rings or nose grips.
5. Stewards decision on any matter in this section will be final.
6. The committee reserves the right to limit entries per person should the
number of entries exceed space available.
7. The committee reserves the right to alter /add classes depending on the
number of entries received.
8. Heifers shown is stud classes are not eligible to be shown as led heifers.
