PRESS RELEASE

Poznań, 18 March 2013

Kompania Piwowarska offers now internships in technical departments!

Kompania Piwowarska is looking for ambitious young people who in the future will be ready to take charge of the company’s production areas. 18 March marks the beginning of a recruitment process for the Manufacturing Trainee Program. This is the second edition of a programme for students of technical universities who are provided with 18 months of paid internship in KP ’s breweries in Tychy, Pozna ń and Białystok. The students can choose between the Production,

Packaging and Technology departments.

The Manufacturing Trainee Program is targeted at undergraduate students or graduates of technical universities. The preferred areas of expertise are technical (mechanics and mechanical engineering, automatic control engineering and robotics and the like) as well as technological (biotechnology, food engineering, chemical engineering and the like). The internship is 18 months long and consists of several stages, starting with a general overview of all brewery departments and concluding with single-handed carrying through projects and evaluation thereof. An Individual Development Plan for each trainee makes it possible to find out about the entire scope of activities in the operational part of the company and to exchange knowledge as part of SABMiller Group’s projects in Europe.

How to apply for internship?

The internship recruitment process commences on 18 March. Kompania Piwowarska looks for people with a very good command of English and who are mobile, on the lookout for development opportunities and who want to enrich their knowledge and skills. The candidates should have natural communication skills and leadership abilities, to take the initiative and enjoy challenges. The recruitment process consists of several stages: online registration, verification of the submitted applications, the Assessment Centre, testing the candidates’ command of English and an interview with the employer’s representative. Young people will start their internships at Kompania Piwowarska in September against a time-specified employment contract.

Ewa Kaźmierczyk, manager in charge of talent management for Kompania Piwowarska said :

“ The company benefits greatly from employing students and graduates as long-term interns in the technical departments as the number of highly specialized employees in the labour market is increasingly scarce. Our intention is to invest in individuals with a high potential and willing to face new challenges; in return we offer unrivalled development opportunities ”.

Learning from the best

The Manufacturing Trainee Program commencing this autumn is the second edition of the project.

Right now KP breweries in Tych y, Poznań and Białystok are hosting graduates of four Polish technical universities who started the trainee program in June 2012.

Adam Kowalik, a graduate of the Management and Production Engineering faculty at the Wrocław

University of Economics, is working in the Technical Department in the Tychy brewery while Adrian

Tomaszewski, an IT engineer from the Białystok University of Technology has been employed in the

Packaging Department in the Białystok brewery. Two graduates of the Poznań School of Technology have been employed in Pozna ń: Szymon Mrozik in the Packaging department and Dominik

Malkowski in the Production department.

While the young people have only been working for several months for KP, the internship programrelated benefits are clear to them.

“This provides us with comprehensive knowledge,” says Adrian Tomaszewski about his experience.

“It holds true not only for beer production but also many other skills (e.g. leadership, problem solving) which can come in useful in the professional life and elsewhere. Another valuable aspect of this internship is putting your new skills to practice.”

“My major goal is to complete the internship and in the process to learn about the brewery’s operations and its idiosyncrasies. I am learning about the organization and take part in the scheduled training sessions. On top of that, I have a set of own projects to complete, related to streamlining reuse of power in the brewhouse, enhancing wort cooling and spent grains pushing. On top of that,

I help the other engineers in the technical department as much as I can ,” Adam Kowalik commented on his responsibilities. “This is a truly extended internship which can be started at the university as I did. The internship is long enough to acquire the necessary skills and experience. People who work for KP are the company’s genuine asset: they are very helpful and open and they are certainly knowledgeable about their work.”

As a result of the Manufacturing Trainee Program, the students and graduates have an opportunity to become part of the leader of the Polish beer industry and, to quote from the interns, to learn from the best at the very threshold of their professional careers.
