Upon completion of this workshop, the
attendees will be better able to:

Discuss the four types of learner
engagement and how they relate to
adult education
Discover proven research-based
interactive teaching techniques in
the classroom
Identify what is of value and
importance to traditionalists, baby
boomers, Gen X and millennial
learners
Analyze the 7 things that learners
want from those who teach and
manage them, experiencing
strategies adaptable to the
classroom.
Demonstrate a quick way to
strategize care with a learner when
things change.
Examine tools that identify which
students have accomplished their
goals and which have not
Discuss teaching ideas that make the
most of pre- and post-conference.

From the South:
Take I-65 to the Herron St Exit. Turn
right onto Herron St which becomes
Bibb St; turn right on Catoma; turn left
at first light which is Montgomery St;
park in Troy’s parking lot on right. Park
in any space not marked ‘reserved’.
Walk further up Montgomery St on
same side of street as the parking to
just past the Davis Theater.
From the North:
Take I-65 to the Clay St Exit. Go
through the first light and turn left
onto Herron St (cross the bridge);
Herron St becomes Bibb St; turn right
on Catoma; turn left at the first light
which is Montgomery St; park in Troy’s
parking lot on right. Park in any space
not marked ‘reserved’. Walk further
up Montgomery St on same side of
street as the parking to just past the
Davis Theater

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
The purpose of this program is to equip
nurse educators for the challenges and
expectations of the changing population of
students.
Speaker Bio: Michele Deck, MEd, RN, BSN,
LCCE, FACCE is the President and CEO of
GAMES/ Tool Thyme for Trainers. Michele is
an author, educator and speaker who is
known for her innovative teaching methods
in the field of health care education and
training. Extensive travel to lecture in
Australia, Scotland, Canada, Taiwan and
working full time for the last twenty-eight
years, she has earned awards and
recognitions including "Excellence in
Nursing”, "Great 100 Nurses in Louisiana",
“Business Woman of the Year”. She has
served as past president of Lamaze
International, as well as serving on the
editorial board of JNSD and elected to Sigma
Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
