December Newsletter Quality Interactive Montessori @ Spur Cross 38424 N Spur Cross, Cave Creek, AZ 85331 www.qimontessori.com www.facebook.com/QIMontessori T: 480-595-5280 Upcoming Events Dear Parents, Can you believe that it is December already? Thank you all for the delicious food at our annual family pot luck. We hope that you enjoyed the performances that the students worked on. This year we were able to raise enough money with our bake sale to adopt tow families. One is a family of 4, a mother with three daughters and the other is a senior couple that has fallen on hard times. We feel so grateful that we are able to provide a happy holiday season for those that are in need. It is a wonderful reminder how fortunate our school community is. It is also a great lesson in giving to those that need it most. Again, THANK YOU for all of your support. December 17th Holiday Performance December 18th Last Day December 21 – January 3 Winter Break January 4 School Resumes December Performance Thursday, December 17th the students will be performing their annual holiday collection of songs. Ms. Sigrid has been involved in music her entire life, she has taken our students to the next level with their understanding of music and theory. After the Performance There will be a hot cocoa and cookie happy half-hour. Students and their parents are invited to join us for the half hour following the performance for hot cocoa and cookies, as sign-up sheet will be available in the office. If your child is NOT registered for Thursday’s, you will need to take them with you after the performance. We will have school on Friday, December 18th. Kindergarten Information Night On Wednesday, December 2nd we will be holding a Kindergarten Information night. This night will include why staying the 3rd year is important to your child’s Montessori education, scholarship options and other questions that you may have regarding your child’s Kindergarten year. Ms. Pam’s Corner Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our school’s Thanksgiving pot luck. We really appreciate how all the families pull together to provide such a delicious lunch. What a wonderful time of year! It was rewarding to see everyone come together to celebrate. The children worked so hard to get ready for their performance. I was very impressed with the play. I hope you enjoyed it too. Page 1 of 2 Dear Parents, November went by quickly and I am amazed at the progress of the children. Each day they settle into a busy routine and show us how much they have learned. At the end of our morning circle we dismiss each child by asking what he or she would like to work with. If they don’t know the name of the material they have chosen one of us will tell them so we can help them learn the correct names such as Practical Life instead of “I want to work with water”. The children are very proud when they complete a lesson on their own and are eager to show us! “The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, "The children are now working as if I did not exist."” – Maria Montessori I can’t believe December is already here bringing us 2016 right around the corner. During this month we will learn about Holidays around the world. I would like to invite any parent that would like to share any special holiday traditions with the class. Holiday Performance Our holiday performance will take place on Thursday 17th December. If your child is not a Thursday child they are still invited to attend and Participate in the performance.
