Rules and Regulations
General information
Saint John Idol will be held on the Wave Stage on the Market Square boardwalk, Wednesday evenings
beginning June 25, 2014 between the hours of 8pm-10pm.
Eligibility
You must be a permanent resident of Kings county, Saint John county or Charlotte county. You are
ineligible if you already have either talent representation or a recording contract. Saint John Idol is open
to contestants of all ages.
The Process
All applicants must perform on opening night, Wednesday June 25, 2014. Each applicant will be
expected for perform maximum 60 seconds A Cappella in front of the judges. Order of performance will
be random. Judges will assess performers and successful candidates will then be informed of dates and
times for semi, quarter and finals. The audience, through online voting, will decide the winner of Saint
John Idol. Votes are received and tallied by a non-partisan web master.
Contestants chosen to move on past opening night will be permitted to bring their own instrument for
their performance. “Contestants” will also have the opportunity to invite 1 guest only to accompany
them should they not be able to play an instrument on their own. Event organizers must be informed 1
week in advance of any technical requirements.
Disqualification
We reserve the right to disqualify or exclude, in our sole and absolute discretion, any individual from any
of the auditions for any reason. We also reserve the right to change the rules and procedures at any
time. Being chosen to audition at any level in the process does NOT ensure that you will be selected to
continue to the next stage.
General conditions
By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the radio station, the
voting audience, and the panels of judges, which shall be final and binding. We reserve the right to use
the auditioning process for publicity purposes, and to use the names and likeness of entrants as part of
that publicity, without compensation.

All prizes awarded as presented.

Release of Liability
In consideration of space made available to ___97.3 the Wave in or on the interior or exterior
of lands and premises known as Market Square (the “area”) for the purpose of Saint John Idol
and for no other purpose, for a period of June 25th – August 27th 2014 on Wednesday Evenings
at 8pm.
The undersigned hereby for itself / their heirs, executors, administrators, successors does/do
hereby agree to release and forever discharge, Market Square (The Hardman Group Limited),
Acadia Broadcasting, its owners, agents, representatives and employees from any and all
liability arising from any source of damage, loss or injury to the undersigned, their agents,
employees, representatives, persons and/or property which may be sustained by the
undersigned as a direct result of the occupation and utilization by the undersigned of the noted
area(s).
