Richard Aird OBE is perhaps better known as the Headteacher for Hereford’s Barrs Court Specialist
(SEN) School and College, but he is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist folk artist of many
years’ standing. To mark his retirement from Barrs Court, Richard will perform an acoustic set of
traditional, contemporary and original, plus spoken verse, accompanying himself on Celtic harp,
guitar, bouzouki, tenor ukulele and assorted dulcimers. Richard’s influences include Nic Jones, Robin
Williamson, Bert Jansch and Roy Harper.
Richard will also be joined for some of the performance by story teller Alan Kilburn and world
musician Manu Song. Join Richard Aird for a spectacular performance that bids farewell to one of
Herefordshire’s most notable and talented musicians.
Richard Aird will be at The Courtyard in the Studio Theatre on Saturday 20 July at 8pm. For more
information or to book tickets, visit the website www.courtyard.org.uk or call the Box Office on
01432 340555.
