Notice is hereby given that Bid Proposals will be received at Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority
(OMPA), 2701 W. I-35 Frontage Rd., Edmond, Oklahoma 73013 or via e-mail adobson@ompa.com until
4:00 P.M., Local Time, March 12, 2015, for the Ponca City Kaw Hydro & Tonkawa Transmission Line
Vegetation Control project.
The documents may be examined at the office of OMPA. Questions, requests for specifications and
documents, or comments concerning the project should be directed to Alex Dobson at 405-359-2512.
Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids received more than 96 hours early will not be
accepted. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud immediately after the specified closing time.
All bids must be accompanied by executed Non-Collusion and Business Relationship Affidavits. Forms
for said affidavits are included.
The successful bidder will be required to submit proof of Workers’ Compensation and General Liability
insurance prior to a purchase order being issued. The successful bidder will also be required to execute
and provide to OMPA the form W9.
Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, or to accept the bid
deemed to be in the best interest of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority.

Summary:
OMPA is requesting bids for clearing of trees, brush and vegetation in the 69kV Transmission line right of
way near Ponca City, Oklahoma and Tonkawa, Oklahoma. The Kaw Hydro line is 9.2 miles long, the
Tonkawa line is 0.6 miles long. Work within the approach distance of 69kV or 12kV conductors may be
required. Contractor shall obtain Hot Line Orders from OMPA when working within the approach
distance of any energized conductor. Weed and brush control chemicals may be required. Workers must
be qualified to work near energized conductors and handle vegetation control chemicals.
Specific details of bid request:

a) Tree trimming, brush clearing and vegetation control spraying

a. Represent OMPA to all property owners who may be affected by trimming and/or
spraying activities. OMPA expects contractor to act cooperatively with land
owners.
b. Trim or remove all trees within 25’ of 69kV centerline (easement is 25’ on each
side) until no branches are within 20’ of phase conductors. In the wildlife
protection area immediately south of the dam, cutting trees to the ground is not
permitted, but trees may be trimmed . Brush hog or otherwise remove vegetation
in overgrown areas in the line right of way and apply chemical controls (contractor
to supply chemicals) to prevent re-growth (except in the wildlife protection areas
south of the dam). Remove trimmed branches and materials from site. Exercise
extreme caution in areas where chemicals may enter nearby water or agricultural
areas.
