AGM Ninfield Bonfire Meeting at the Working Men’s Club 29/02/ 2012 Present Scott, Sur, Ian, Pete, Carol, Nicki, Sophie, Ash, Lisa, John Sinfoil, John AND Carol, Maureen, Anne, Joe, Jenny, Andy, John Firework, Sarah, Derek, Harry, Apologies Sue H, George and Val, Warwick, Kate, Jon Scoones, Des Minutes of the last meeting were received and read to be true Chairmans report Welcome everyone to the end of what was a fantastic year. And hopefully the start of another amazing one. Last year we hosted many brilliant events. The Birth of the Ninfield Gig in Pete and Carols field was brilliant and I’m sure will grow and produce great funding for the bonfire needs. With the help of outsiders like Ben White for the lights and staging and David Isaacs from Meridian Marques for the loos. The bands that donated their time or at reduced fees. Disco Des for comparing. People for selling tickets, setting up, ripping down, bbqing manning the bar or purchasing the insurance without all of these people we couldn’t stage these events. So a big well done to all. We then had the Michaelmas. Same people involved I didn’t do as much last year as I had a broken collar bone but Carol has told me there’s a lot to do next year. Again despite the weather being a little grim was a great fundraiser. Without these two events we could not put on our spectacular Bonfire celebrations but you all did and once again we honoured the hard work with an amazing night. Fantastic procession, great torches and fire and Superb fireworks. It once again had the village speaking for a long time about yet another one of our wonderful events. There are many things that go on behind the scenes that people don’t see. And lots of people are doing stuff. I won’t thank people individually but to those that have done stuff well done a Big pat on the back and let’s hope you continue to do your hard work and others will help share the burden or take on new rolls Just one personal thank you to Ash for the website. It looks fantastic and I know its not been easy so well done. Just one more personal thank you to a group who host us here every month . the working men’s club. Sorry one other which i’m sure will get a big cheer of support. Every year we have been supplied with supper at the AGM I thought it was down to the working mens club but its always been down to our valued Treasurer thats treated us so THANKS DEREK With that all done hopefully everyone has had a great year and lets hope for an even better one this year Before I stand down as Chairman we have 2 of our members that are doing various things for charity. Warwick is cycling from lands end to John o Groats or doing it the downhill way. And Steve Perkins is doing the 3 peak challenge. They both came to us over a month ago but i haven’t mentioned it. Before we close this year’s accounts can I suggest that we on this year’s proceedings we donate to one and next year we donate to the other . We are going to have someone in the society at sometime wanting sponsorship. Again can I suggest that we limit this to one a year, Put to the vote and was agreed to give Warwick £150 from last year and Steve Perkins £150 from next year I pointed out that Andy Gale was also doing a charity bike ride and suggested that anyone wanting to do so is sponsor Andy direct.
