PORTFOLIO ASSIGNMENTS 124 NURS 2158 Nursing Process I Portfolio Assignments The following are your Portfolio Assignments for NURS 2158. You are to obtain a binder to keep these assignments in as they are completed. You will be expected to keep up with all Portfolio Assignments throughout the year. At the end of the year you will be asked to submit a complete portfolio with all three semesters represented. The portfolio reflects your entire time in school. The basic assignments required will be given each semester, you may add other work that you feel is reflective as well. You will receive points for each assignment. The points will be counted as a homework grade at the end of the semester. To receive the points you must be passing this course with a 79% or better on unit/comprehensive exams. Assignment #1 Due January 31st (20 points) Following APA guidelines, write a one page synopsis regarding your view of the process of transitioning from the role of LPN to RN. Use correct grammar and spelling. This paper must be typed and double spaced. Use file exchange on Portal to submit your paper. Assignment #2 Variable Due date (10 points) Develop a concept map regarding an assigned concept. The concept map will be due at the beginning of the class. You are expected to be able to discuss your findings in front of the class. Your concept map will be displayed during class for discussion. The concept map needs to be on an 8x11 or 11x14 paper. It is strongly encouraged that you review your concept map with your instructor at least one week before it is due for you to receive feedback and the possible need for changes. You may work as a team of 2 to complete this project. Assignment #3 Due February 6th, February 27th, March 6th(10 points per set for total of 30 points) Complete 200 NCLEX style questions for each of the due dates listed. You must make at least a 79% on each set of questions and you must take at least 100 questions at a time. Print off your results only and hand into the instructor. You may not finish all of the 600 questions at one time. Two points will be deducted for each day the questions are late. Assignment #4 Due April 19th (10 points) Complete Pediatric assessment and concept map. See assignment instructions under pediatrics portion of the syllabus. Assignment #5 Variable Due Dates The following ATI exams are to be completed by the due date listed. They are practice exams but you must score at least a 79% on each exam.
