Offering Envelopes for 2016 are available at the Welcome Desk. You may sign up and
pick up yours today.
The MLK Choir Rehearsal will be held at Williams Memorial on Monday’s, January 11th
and Friday, January 15th at 7:00pm. All choirs are encouraged to participate. Anyone who
would like to sing in the choir is welcome. See Rev. Marlo Shoffner for more information.
Helena B. Cobb Day will be observed today, January 10, 2016 by our Missionary Society.
Help save a life. The Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Blood Drive!!! Saturday,
January 16, 2016 from 7:00am to 11:30am. For each pint of blood given 3 Lives are
saved. A sign-up sheet is in the vestibule.
The Carl Chavis YMCA is sponsoring “The MLK High Point Community Parade” on
Saturday, January 16th at 1:00pm. See the bulletin for details.
The Helena B. Cobb scholarships are available to tradition and non-tradition students.
This is a $200 scholarship that will be sent the schools. Please see Annie Scarboro if
interested.
Keith Jackson would like to meet with those who would like to join the Williams Memorial
Drumline, today after the 11:00 AM Service.
February is Black History Month! The Black History Committee will meet today, after
11AM service. All those who are interested in joining the committee are asked to meet at
the front of the Sanctuary immediately following the service. All ages and ideas are
welcome!! If you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Marchelle Green or contact
the Church Office to provide your name, phone number and email address.
MLK DAY Scholarship Breakfast and Oratorical Contest will be held on Monday,
January 18, 2016, 8:00 AM at HPU Community Center. See Delia Bates for ticket
information today. Tickets must be paid today through Williams Memorial. Limited amount
left. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
MLK DAY SERVICE will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016, 6:30 PM at Williams
Memorial CME Church.

The Male Ushers will celebrate their 9th Anniversary on Sunday, January 17th, during the
8:00am Service.
The Helena B. Cobb and P. Ann Pegues essay competition will take place at Williams
Memorial CME on Saturday, January 23rd at 11:00am. Congratulations to Camryn Briley,
Nehemiah McDonald, Robert Little, Malachi Smith and Brianna Webb. The entire church
body is invited to come and give support.
The Parking Lot Ministry is looking for persons interested in serving. The committee
will be meeting soon to prepare for the Martin Luther King, Jr. service to be held at
Williams Memorial on Monday, January 18, 2016. Please see Cedric Hale for more
information.
Black History Celebration will begin with an evening with Ronald J. Jones and the A&T
State University Choir. They will be in concert at Williams Memorial CME on Sunday,
January 31, 2016 at 4:00 PM.
It’s HLI Time! Registration for the Higher Learning Institute will begin next Sunday.
The first session will be Saturday, January 30th at 9:00 am. Please see Rolanda Baldwin or
any HLI mentor for more information.

PLACE for the New Year is planned for March 2016. While in the planning stage, we are
also seeking new trainers. If you are interested in becoming a PLACE trainer or consultant,
please see Rolanda Baldwin or Francine Mallory. You may also submit your name to the
church office.
The PLACE Trainers will meet on Thursday, January 14th at 6:30 PM.
All Visitors of Williams Memorial are asked to fill out the visitor’s card in your Visitors
package and turn into an usher today.
