About Hortus Loci
Hortus Loci is a wholesale Plant Nursery based near Hook, Hampshire. They specialise in high-quality
plants, shrubs and trees and grow 30,000 perennials every year. They supply landscapers and designers
with all of the elements they need to produce award-winning gardens, especially for the prestigious RHS
Shows such as Chelsea and Hampton Court.
The company has grown rapidly over the past few years, meaning that there are multiple opportunities
for an aspiring professional to grow their skills and get stuck in.
Responsibilities in this Role
The purpose of this role is to provide essential support across the 16 acre nursery. It will be a varied role
with plenty of chances to grow your horticultural knowledge. It is a job share opportunity and Hortus loci
are a flexible employer, allowing employees to work the hours they choose, between 07:00-17:30,
Monday to Saturday. Key tasks will be:




Maintaining plant quality by weeding, spraying, feeding and maintaining the quality of our plants
Assisting with picking plants for orders
Working with the Contract Grow Manager and the Show Plant Manager
Working with the fruit and vegetable growers.

Key Attributes and Skills Required
The chosen candidate will need to have a keen interest in horticulture and will be looking for an outdoor
job. They will need to work well as a team and be friendly and flexible. They must be available to work a
minimum of 20 hours per week but opportunities to do more hours may be available during busy periods.
Various types of training will be provided and any skills and interests in specific areas will be a real asset.
References will be required.
