College of Education and Human Sciences Student Ambassadors
Overview:
The College of Education and Human Sciences Student Ambassadors are an elite group
of students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in academics and student
leadership. Ambassadors will serve as official host and hostess representatives, student
recruitment agents, mentors, and student advisors to the Dean. They will assist with student
recruitment, speak to community and university groups and represent the College at receptions
and meetings. Ambassadors meet various times throughout the year for planning sessions and
to find ways to improve the student experience throughout the college years.
Goal:
Ambassadors will focus their work around developing professional relationships with leaders in
their fields, the understanding of how to impact the community in a positive way, and how to
gain leadership abilities that will last a lifetime. The students chosen to be part of this elite
group will receive valuable training and develop skills in problem solving, team building,
interpersonal communication, diversity, public speaking, networking, and leadership. These
respected characteristics will combine in making them more marketable in today’s workforce.
Membership Requirements:
Student Ambassadors are chosen through a selection process that includes an application and
an interview. Applications are accepted in April each year from College of Education and
Human Sciences students who meet membership criteria. Interviews are granted to qualified
applicants who are selected through a pre-screening review by the Director of Clinical
Experiences. To qualify as a prospective Student Ambassador, students must meet application
criteria and agree to fulfill membership expectations. Dishonesty during the application process
or failing to fulfill membership expectations while an ambassador will result in termination of
