AZORES OFFSHORE EXPEDITIONS was born from a partnership between Espirito Azul Dive Center, Octopus - Diving Center and Village Yachts to create special and
personalized conditions to divers.
AZORES OFFSHORE EXPEDITIONS is a diving program that allows divers to travel
between our islands and dive in the best submarine reefs and banks of the Azores from
our 45 feet yacht. Places like, D. João de Castro, Princesa Alice and Condor are now
closer to all the divers as well as the encounters with Mantas, Sharks. It is a AllIncluded type of program so, transportation to and from the airport, overnight stay in
local hotels of the different islands visited, lunch on board, meals inland, dives and
yacht rental are all included. It is a customized and personalized dive cruise, with a
minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 people. Our facilities are located at the marina of
Praia da Vitória city, Terceira Island, Central Group of Azores. Below you can see a map
of the Azores Islands, as well as our cruising routes and the characteristics of our yacht.
Destination – CENTRAL GROUP
1 – Safari week – 8 days and 7 nights - diving cruise in the best locations of the islands
of Terceira, Graciosa, S. Jorge, Pico, Faial and off-shore banks (Serreta, Condor and
Pricesa Alice). Departures by Yacht every Sunday from Praia da Vitória – Terceira
Island.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM
CENTRAL GROUP
– Safari Week –
1st day-Reception and pick up of the guests in the Lajes airport in Praia da Vitória city
and transfer to the Hotel in Praia da Vitória, and check-in in the Hotel. At 14pm, pick
up at hotel, and check-in at the Diving Center, to set the equipment and make the
divers registration. At 15pm first dive of the program, check dive in a protected area.
2nd day – At 9am, first dive of the day, between 12.30pm – 14pm, surface interval and
lunch time. During the afternoon at 14.30pm will make the second dive. Overnight stay
inland in Terceira Island and dinner in local restaurant.
3th day – At 7.15h check in the yacht, where will left all dive equipment, as well as the
main baggage. Should bring in a small backpack only what is necessary to spend the
night at the hotel. At 8.00h, departure to Graciosa to make the first dive. Second dive
will be made near the São Jorge Island and the third dive close to Faial or Pico.
Overnight stay on the Faial Island and dinner in local restaurant.
4th day – At 9.00am departure for 3 dives along Faial and Pico Islands during all day.
Overnight stay in Faial Island and dinner in local restaurant.
5th day – Start of the journey to the Princesa Alice bank at 7.00h for two dives. The
third dive will be done near the island of Faial, probably in the Condor bank.
6th day - Return trip to Terceira Island starting at 8.00am and arrival at 12.30pm. Check
out of the yacht, picking up all personal dive equipment and all luggage as well. Rest of
the day – free time to visit the village or relax in the beach. Overnight stay in Terceira
Island and dinner in local restaurant.
7th day – 10pm – Meeting in the Hotel, and touristic Tour around the Island, to visit the
volcanic caves, the natural swimming pool areas and lookout points. Regional lunch in
local restaurant. Overnight stay in Terceira Island (dinner is not included).
8th day - Check-out of Hotel till 12.am. Transfer to Lajes airport in Praia da Vitória. End
of the program.
Please note: In the 2nd day of the program we can make the optional extra course, to make 2
dives in the D. João Castro Bank. The travel to the bank will be by zodiac (2hours) to meet the
yacht, make the surface interval, light lunch, and the travel back to Terceira Island will be
made on the yacht. ( addi ti onal cos ts of 90€ / person ).
This optional extra course is always depending on weather and ocean conditions.

REMARKS: Level 2 and 50 dives; Bring backpack; Departures and arrivals from Praia da
Vitória city;
- Routes may be changed due to adverse weather and ocean conditions;
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on board. The course and the dive spots of
Central Group week safari will be chosen with previous experience demonstrated.
