I wonder what they were used for: a calendar? To keep time? As a place to worship? The stone came from 240 miles away in Wales in 2150 B.C. Some of the 82 stones weigh at or over 4 tons each. The legend is that if the ravens ever leave, the Tower will fall in. So many famous English citizens and royalty have been held in the Tower Prison and executed on the lawn including Henry the 8ths wives. Saw the crown jewels, part of the old Royal Palace, the Yoeman wardens, and stories about the Royal animals. Wow, I can’t believe I’m walking on the same floor as Shakespeare! I just saw his actual signature and writing desk and some of his original manuscript pages.
