GONZALES COUNTY LIVESTOCK SHOW COMMERCIAL HEIFER RULES In order to participate in the Commercial Heifer Show, the exhibitor must complete the first page of the commercial heifer forms. Form to be turned in to the Extension Office by February 20th, 2014. NEW CHANGE: This year the judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. and no one will be allowed in or around the arena during the duration of the judging. The judges will interview exhibitors around 12 p.m. or as soon as judging is complete. An announcement will be made to call all exhibitors to the arena. Commercial Heifer results will be announced at 1 p.m. ANY DECORATIONS IN THE ALLEY(i.e. tables, showboxes etc.) NEED TO BE REMOVED BY 5:30 ON FRIDAY. Please leave posters attached to pens so that the buyers have information about the heifers. After the sale, please remove all posters and signs and leave the area free of any trash. COMMERCIAL HEIFER HERDSMAN RULES Two herdsman buckles awarded: one for junior exhibitors and one for senior exhibitors. To receive full credit towards the herdsman award, the following criteria must be followed: 1) Complete the provided commercial heifer forms (four pages). 2) Use a ½ or 1 inch solid colored binder as your record book. 3) Show extra effort such as pictures, expenses, or any other pertinent information. 4) Decorations and neatness of pen 5) Interview with judges Record book to be turned in to the Extension Office by February 20th, 2014 Any questions, please call Tim Knesek (830)857-5176.
