Brief Description
o Approximately 15 - 19 students are hired for the summer and typically work 40 hours per week.
o On average 60-70% of the interns schedule is in non-administrative positions, time devoted to technical
proficiency, learning medication use policy and distributive functions, intravenous compounding services,
controlled substance distribution, drug information and drug policy.
o Clinical Practice accounts for 10-20% of the interns schedule: Journal Club, pharmacist discussions and continuing
education presentations. All students are given the opportunity to shadow pharmacists in areas they would like to
explore
o An independent project are given to student interns
Application involves Letter of Intent, CV and 2 Letters of Recommendations
