‘Investing in Sandwell’ Project- Promotional Product Brief Background Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations supports the Voluntary and Community Sector in Sandwell, comprising over 1,000 not-for-profit groups and organisations. On behalf of members of the Voluntary and Community Sector Leaders’ Forum, SCVO are conducting research into the value of the local Sector, the key findings of which will be presented within a promotional product. This piece of research undertaken will help to gather information and help to demonstrate: The economic picture – e.g. number of employees, volunteers, funding attracted within the Voluntary and Community Sector. The social value of the Sector, which enables long term positive change within communities The Unique Selling Points and key distinctive features and why the Sector is integral to partnerships, alliances and integrated working now and in the future. The Task To work with the findings of the research undertaken to create a promotional product which best demonstrates the important role of Sandwell’s Voluntary and Community Sector To create copy which will succinctly express the quantitative and qualitative information in a compelling and persuasive manner To lay out and prepare for print the document, including illustrations where appropriate, so that the product is accessible, visually impactful and attractive to the reader. Timescale The finished product needs to be signed off and ready for print by the 15th May 2015. Budget Funding for delivering this brief is £2,000, inclusive of VAT and all other associated costs. Pitch Individuals and organisations interested in delivering this work should submit to SCVO a short pitch (no more than 500 words) outlining their credentials and suitability for this task. We expect that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong journalistic/ written skills, as well as the ability to present work using desktop publishing tools, as required. Examples of relevant previous work may be submitted in addition to your pitch.
