The Elijah Glen Center at Step By Step is a short-term residential center to serve adolescents with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or intellectual or development disability (D/D) who do not warrant intensive psychiatric or acute care but who need a less restrictive short term residential treatment or step down care program to stabilize and to reunify back into their family’s life.
Behavioral Treatment Role
Delivers instruction following procedures learned from initial and ongoing training sessions and based on feedback given from supervisors.
Collect and analyze data accurately following SBSA procedures. Input behavioral data through the electronic system. Identify when interventions are needed for specific adolescent programs.
Monitor designated adolescent’s ISP/Person Centered Plan objectives and the progression of goals. Complete review forms for designated adolescent when assigned by Supervisors.
Conduct re-enforcer assessments and deliver reinforcement following principles as learned in initial and ongoing training sessions and based on feedback from supervisors.
Proficient in the implementation of behavior support plans
Required to obtain and maintain crisis management certification. ST will utilize these techniques only as taught and approved by licensed staff.
Proficient in completing compliance paperwork accurately such as physical restraint paperwork
Organize and maintain instructional area. Prepare and keep reinforcement and needed materials accessible.
Demonstrates accurate implementation of specific skill sets as taught in initial and ongoing training sessions and based on feedback from supervisors.
Fill out Trouble Shooting forms when necessary and implement all interventions given by the supervisor.
Supervisory Care Role
Help support the adolescent in keeping their own personal items, laundry, bedroom and bathroom organized and clean.
Help support the adolescent during off campus times such as doctors’ appointments and community outings.
Provide supervision and behavioral supports during times of visiting with family, friends, and possible funders of services.
Supporting the adolescent in bathing and toileting.
Lunch and dinner will be provided to the Direct Service Provider as they eat alongside of the adolescent.
There are 3 shifts available for this position. First shift is 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.; second shift is 3:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. and third shift is 11:30 p.m. to 7:45 a.m.
Education:
High School diploma/GED required; college preferred and must be 21 years of age per ODJFS regulations
Skills:
Excellent attendance
Ability to accurately document required therapy
Ability to complete trainings and utilize that information in daily therapies
Ability to perform emergency medical procedures when necessary
Ability to accurately document required therapy data
Medical/Prescription, Dental and Vision for full-time employees. Rate of pay is $13.00 per hour
