Assessment Centres – 2012/13
In the current competitive retail environment Debenhams is always striving to
be one step ahead.
We would like you to complete a competitive shop comparing a current
full price 2012 / 2013 Menswear DENIM range of another high street
retailer of your choice to Debenhams.
You might want to consider some of the categories below:
Styling/Trends
Pricing
Detailing
Quality
Marketing/Ticketing
Windows
Colour
We would then like you to complete a proposal for what you feel
Debenhams can learn from this range and how it could be taken through
to next year’s Autumn/Winter or Spring/Summer range.**
You will be given 10 minutes to present your ideas back on all the above to
your assessors in the manner you choose, however it must contain evidence
of the test shop.
Unfortunately we do not have access to OHPs or Powerpoint on the day,
however please feel free to print out the slides as A4s or Handouts for your
assessors.
* Please choose to complete a competitive shop on a specific range rather
than the whole department.
** We appreciate that some retailers will have mark downs (sale items) on
Autumn/Winter ranges but others will have started to bring in their
Spring/Summer ranges. Please only look at full price merchandise for this
presentation and consider making recommendations relevant to the specific
season of the range chosen.
