Apply to Represent Ohio State at the

2016 U21 Undergraduate Research Conference:

A Global Perspective on Ageing Societies

The Ohio State University is a member of Universitas 21 (U21) ( http://www.universitas21.com/ ), a leading global network of 25 research-intensive universities throughout the world. U21 members work together to foster citizenship and institutional innovation through researchinspired teaching and learning, student mobility, and advocacy for internationalization.

Each year, talented undergraduates from across the U21 network have the opportunity to showcase their research, exchange ideas, polish their presentation skills and develop global, interdisciplinary networks at U21’s Undergraduate Research Conference.

Overview of the 2016 U21 Undergraduate Research Conference:

The U21 Undergraduate Research Conference will be held at the Tecnológico de Monterrey

( http://www.universitas21.com/event/details/245/undergraduate-research-conference-aglobal-perspective-on-ageing-societies ) from July 11-16, 2016 in Monterrey, Mexico. Topics encompassed by the conference theme, A Global Perspective on Ageing Societies , will include research relating to a broad range of aging-related topics and methodologies.

Eligibility and Selection Process:

All undergraduates, of any rank or major, enrolled at The Ohio State University (all campuses) are invited to apply to present their research at the 2016 U21

Undergraduate Research Conference by Monday, February 8, 2016 .

Students graduating in Spring, 2016 are eligible to apply, to present and partake in the

U21 Conference, if the proposed research was conducted as part of their undergraduate education.

Three undergraduates will be selected to participate in the 2016 U21 Undergraduate

Research Conference based upon: (1) topic, scope, and significance of the student’s research, (2) relevance of the student’s research to the conference theme, and (3) the student's academic performance.

All travel- and participation-related expenses (e.g., flights, hotel, meeting registration, in-country travel, and meals) will be fully paid by The Ohio State

University.

Students interested in submitting an application are encouraged to contact Dr. Lorraine

Once initial reviews of submitted applications are completed, finalists will be requested to schedule a meeting at the URO to discuss this opportunity further.

Your faculty research advisor must approve your abstract and endorse your participation at the 2016 U21 Undergraduate Research Conference.

If you are selected to participate in the conference, you will have 2 weeks from the date of nomination to submit your application for a passport. If an application for a passport is not completed within 2 weeks from the date of nomination, the Undergraduate Research Office will nominate another student to participate.
