Objectives are program-specific and describe student behaviors. Two of the undergraduate learning goals have been adopted by the department: writing effectively and critical thinking.

You have direct and indirect measures here, so that is good. It does not appear that your measures are multiple but rather singular for each objective.

Expectations have been established for the measures given.

It is good that you included numbers as well as percentages in this column. What are the data beginning to tell you about student learning in this program? As you continue to collect data, you will want to include more analysis of what it tells you and how you have used the information in Parts two and three.

The feedback loop is not completely closed. Who analyzes the data and discusses what changes, if any, need to be made to the program? Are there regular meetings or a faculty retreat where such discussions could or do occur?

* Levels should not be interpreted as grades or scores; they are stages of implementation based on patterns of characteristics described by North Central Association. These levels are approximations based on the information provided in the summaries. Please refer to the checklist for the Primary Traits listed for each level on the assessment web site at www.eiu.edu/~assess .
