‘Orientation’ – Orientation and Jobs4TN.gov registration process. This brief presentation provides an overview of universal programs and services offered through Workforce Investment Network
LWIA13, Memphis, Shelby and Fayette Counties, Tennessee Career Centers – American Job Centers. WIN Services include Individual Training Account (ITA), TABE, KeyTrain, John Holland Quiz
assessments; Industrial Readiness Training, & the National Career Readiness Certificate. Participants will sign up for Jobs4TN.govONLINE, and immediately assigned a Workforce Development Specialist
(WDS) to further discuss training and career development opportunities.
 TABE – Once determined suitable and eligible for an Individual Training Account (ITA) request, assigned WDS schedules participant for an appointment for the participant to take the TABE
assessment. TABE is offered by appointment only Mondays & Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. & 2 p.m.
 IRT & NCRC Registration & Pre-Testing Sessions – Customers interested in WorkKeys assessment process for the IRT (Industrial Readiness Training) program or the NCRC (National Career
Readiness Certificate) will be assigned a WDS and scheduled to return for the Pre-Test & Registration process – Mon or Wed @ 10 a.m. at the Downtown Career Center location ONLY!

‘Alternative Approaches to Job Search’ - There is more than one way to search for a job. This 2 hour workshop explores various methods in seeking employment using non-traditional job search
techniques, with supporting video presentation from renowned experts in the field of career and workforce development.

‘Building the Right Resume’ – 2 hour workshop which explores how to use quantitative and qualitative writing techniques to sell your talents on your resume. Bring your resume for a one on one critique
and watch supportive video presentation from renowned experts in the field of job search and career and workforce development.

‘Building the Right Resume Boot Camp’ – Intense 4 hour-Resume Writing Boot Camp. Here participants will have the opportunity to create or update resumes to be used for effective job search
efforts. Client will walk away with a Resume Portfolio, 10 copies of their finished resume on professional resume paper, Sample Cover Letter, WIN logo black ink pen and flashdrive. This is a hands-on
workshop.

‘Computer Basics 1’ – (1 Hour) This workshop is designed to take the fear out of using a computer, while focusing on the most basic computer literacy processes. Computer Basics 1 is an overview of basic
computer and Internet terminology, use of hardware, software, and the use of the most commonly used Operating System - Microsoft Windows. Participants will also learn the most effective
strategies on how to use the Internet to find information, while conducting a more effective online job search.
‘Computer Basics 2’ (4 hours) – 'Computer Basics 2' (4 hours) – Participants will be introduced to basic ‘Mouse & Keyboarding Fundamentals’ to improve computer skills and gain the confidence
needed to surf the web for a more effective job search. This workshop will feature online keyboarding & mouse practice sites to be used as a tutorial to assist participants in improving their typing skills
and use of the mouse. Participants will learn Keyboard shortcuts, how to open, close, save, locate saved files, access data, copy, paste text, how to create an online job profile, fill out an company webbased job application, upload resume, cover letter and certifications. This is a hands-on workshop. Registration WILL BE REQUIRED! Limit 12 – Call the contact info below for Early Bird registration.
‘Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace’ – This 1 hour workshop focuses on the top employable skills for success and job retention as presented in the 2020 Summit, OHIO ‘Quality of Life
Project’, Russell M. Pry, Executive. The top ‘employable’ and essential skills targeted – Adaptability, Dependability, Work Ethic, Communications, and Critical Thinking, with Integrity as the NUCLEUS.
I’ve added Accountability as the FOUNDATION, supporting the most essential soft skills desired by today’s employers. This workshop also provides a working definition of ‘Emotional Intelligence’ and
why today’s job seekers ‘NEED IT’ to ‘GET’ and ‘KEEP’ a Job! With excerpts from the book, ‘Working with Emotional Intelligence’, by author Daniel Goleman and supportive discussion on the book
‘Anyway: Paradoxical Commandments’, by Dr. Kent Keith.
9. ‘Interviewing: Your Key to Employment’ – 2 hour workshop which includes an overview of the interview process, and tips for successful interview preparation: Before the interview – Day of
Interview – After the Interview, with supportive video presentation from renowned experts in the field of interview preparation and career development with some discussion about the ‘not so talked
about’ interview approaches, including the ‘informational, behavioral and web-based VIDEO interviews’.
10. ‘Jobs4TN.gov ONLINE – Job Seeker Solutions’ – This 1 hour workshop will focus on learning how to use the many helpful tools and resources in Jobs4TNONLINE. Primary attention will be given to
3 specific areas: ‘How to Build a Resume’, ‘How to Search for a Job’ and ‘How to use the Learning Center’ as an additional job aid and tutorial to improve job seeker outcomes and strategies in
Jobs4TN.GOV. This is a hands on/interactive workshop with the assistance of (TDOL) Tennessee Department of Labor Career Center Specialist’s staff.

‘How to Fill out a Job Application & Jobs4tn.gov Job Search’ – This 1 hour workshop is a supplement to Jobs4TN.GOVONLINE, focusing on 'how to properly complete a job application' for both
hardcopy/paper, as well as online/electronic applications. You will also learn how to upload your resume, coverletter, certifications and/or credentials to a job search engine. This workshop hopes to
take the frustration out of completing the job application process. In doing so, your completing a job application should take less time, thus creating more productive job search outcomes.
12. ‘Mock Interviewing Boot Camp’ – 4 hour-Mock Interview Boot Camp. Here participants will have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews for the purpose of improving job seeker interviewing
skills.
13. ‘On the Job Success in the First 90 Days’ – This 2 hour workshop explores the best practices in maintaining job retention. We will also discuss the 10 Quickest Ways to Lose Your Job and How to Avoid
Them. Workshop is an interactive discussion with supportive video presentation from renowned experts in the field of job search and career and workforce development.

15. ‘Finding a Job Using Social Media’ - An increasing number of employers are using social media sites to recruit and advertise for employees. This 2 hour workshop teaches effective job search techniques
and approaches to networking and finding that job using ‘Social Media’.
16. ‘WIN CAN’ - WIN CAN (Career Action Network) is a group of jobseekers who meet regularly and offers practical learning and networking where participants meet bi-monthly to discuss their job searches,
share job leads, improve job-seeking skills and offer support and encouragement. Employment Specialists, Hiring Personnel, and Career Development SMEs are always sharing pertinent job information for
today’s job seeker. Members should be referred by their Workforce Development Specialist (WDS).
