This presentation provides pertinent information regarding universal access programs and services offered through Workforce Investment Network LWIA13, Memphis, Shelby and Fayette Counties. WIN Services discussed also include: Requirements and eligibility for H1B Grant, Individual Training Account, TABE requirements; Industrial Readiness Training, and the National Career Readiness Certificate. TABE – Orientation participants will be assigned a Career Coach immediately after Orientation. Once a participant is determined suitable and eligible for an Individual Training Account (ITA), the assigned Career Coach will schedule an appointment for the participant to take the TABE Assessment. TABE is offered by appointment only Mondays & Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. & 2 p.m. IRT & NCRC Registration & Pre-Testing Sessions – Customers interested in sign-up and WorkKeys pre-testing for the IRT (Industrial Readiness Training) program or the NCRC (National Career Readiness Certificate) can attend either Monday or Wednesday @ 10 a.m. at the Downtown Career Center location ONLY! Second, after discovering your best career path, we will focus on how to effectively use JOBS4TN.GOV for job search to find that perfect job as indicated from your assessment results. 7. ‘Computer Basics 1 & 2’ – ‘Computer Basics 1’ – (1.5 Hours) This workshop is designed to take the fear out of using a computer, while focusing on the most basic computer literacy processes. Computer Basics 1 is an overview of basic computer and Internet terminology, use of hardware, software, and the use of the most commonly used Operating Systems - Microsoft Windows. Participants will also learn the most effective strategies on how to use the Internet to find information, while conducting a more effective online job search. Computer Basics 2 (4 hours) – Participants will be introduced to basic ‘Keyboarding and Mouse Fundamentals’ to improve computer skills and gain the confidence needed to surf the web for a more effective job search.
