Dear Families ,
On behalf of our wonderful Whelan faculty and staff I want to welcome you to what I believe is going to
be a spectacular year. The teachers have been busy this week creating classrooms that are warm and
inviting. ( hopefully not to warm lol) We are so excited to greet the students in the gymnasium on
Tuesday, September 1 at 8:55am . Yard monitors will be on duty at 8:40. Our yard monitors Kim Cardoso
and Maribeth Slack, are to oversee safety in the morning and afternoon. They will be wearing crossing
guard vests and are posted at the gymnasium .
Normally parents and guardians are not allowed in the gym however, for the first day I will allow 1
parent/guardian to walk the child/children into the gymnasium. Day 2 , I will only allow K
parent/guardian to walk in. On Day 3 parents will follow the normal procedure of dropping children off
to door entrance. Please understand this is a safety protocal. Teacher assistants, morning monitors, are
assigned to the morning ensuring safety .
As always, I encourage parents /guardians of children who are not part of kids club and not eating
