Description
Students with learning and behaviour difficulties from year 1-10
inclusive, their teachers and schools
Improved teaching practice, student achievement, student
behaviour.
Increase in number of ‘inclusive’ schools.
Each cluster requires the referring school to provide a detailed
request for service form that includes details of the support sought.
RTLB interventions are designed by the RTLB in collaboration with
the class teacher/school leaders. Interventions are goal oriented and
range from a few weeks to several months, until the goals are
achieved or reviewed.
By working with the teacher(s) and systemically with school leaders
RTLB support teaching practice and school capability to support
learners with learning and behaviour difficulties.
RTLB practice develops positive, culturally responsive relationships
with students and their families/whānau; uses practices that are
adapted to take into account learners’ cultural values, knowledge
and ways of learning; and empowers students from all cultures to
succeed.
The RTLB model of practice focuses on teaching practice, school
capability. When appropriate, and in support of the planned
intervention, RTLB can work with a group of learners, or one on one.
Base line data is currently being collected. Reports are received from
the 40 clusters in the first week of each term; the minutes of Cluster
Advisory Committee meetings are received following each meeting.
Outcome reporting is currently being reviewed.
