FRIDAY
8:00am-4:30pm - DOT Medical Examiner Certification Training
Facilitators: Kisha N. Davis, M.D.
Louise G. Moody, M.D.
The National Registry of certified Medical Examiners is a new U.S. Department of
Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) program.
It requires all medical examiners who perform physical examinations for interstate
commercial motor vehicle drivers to be trained and certified in FMCSA physical
qualification standards. Medical examiners who have completed the training and
successfully passed the test are listed in an online directory on the National Registry
website. The requirement becomes effective in May, 2014. This course is open to
physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
This training course will include the core curriculum specifications established by the
FMCSA. MAFP will provide necessary certificate to present at the testing center for the
NRCME test. A workbook will be provided. Trainees will receive a certificate of
completion needed for the certifying exam.

SATURDAY – Mid-Winter Regional CME Conference
8:00am-5:15pm – CAM in Primary Care
In a survey of US medical centers using integrative medicine, 75% reported success using
integrative practices to treat chronic pain, with more than half reporting positive results in
the areas of gastrointestinal conditions, depression, anxiety, cancer, and chronic stress.
Numerous surveys have demonstrated the increasingly common use of complementary
and alternative therapies (CAM). Americans are now spending more money on CAM
than on traditional medicine. That trend has continued as many forms of CAM are
effective.

This conference will explore issues in CAM, providing the most up-to-date information
