Davis, M.D. Louise G. Moody, M.D. The National Registry of certified Medical Examiners is a new U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) program. It requires all medical examiners who perform physical examinations for interstate commercial motor vehicle drivers to be trained and certified in FMCSA physical qualification standards. Medical examiners who have completed the training and successfully passed the test are listed in an online directory on the National Registry website. The requirement becomes effective in May, 2014. This course is open to physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. This training course will include the core curriculum specifications established by the FMCSA. MAFP will provide necessary certificate to present at the testing center for the NRCME test. A workbook will be provided.
