Biography Project Assigned 4/18 due 5/12
Name _______________
You are a biographer. Your job is to make your person come to life for us.
Here you will find the checklists and rubrics to successfully complete your
Biography Project. This project will count for multiple grades, so please extend
your best efforts.
____ Read a biography or autobiography about your person that is at or above
grade level. This should be a large part of your reading and needs to be at least
150 to 200 pages in length.
____ Find and read other sources on your person as well. See if you can find one
website, one magazine or newspaper article, and a smaller book about your
person.
____ Create a MLA bibliography of your sources using Noodletools.com.
____ See Mrs. Fisher with a printed version of your Bibliography by May 1st.
___________________________________________________________________
____ Write and type a 3 to 4 page paper about your person. The font should be
Times New Roman 12pt. font. Your paper should include a chronology of your
person’s life, an explanation of his or hers significance, and lesser known
information (information most people do not know) about your person. Warning:
copying and pasting writing into your paper will be considered plagiarism and
will result in a zero for this portion of the project. There will be no
opportunities to redo this if you make this decision.
____ Create a cover sheet for your paper.
____ Attach your bibliography to the back of your paper.
____ Bring your paper to Mrs. Fisher by May 8th.
___________________________________________________________________
____ Create a power point to present for the class. (3 to 5 minutes in length)
____ Place your power point on a flash drive, so your presentation can be shared.
____ Be prepared to present your person to the class the week of May 12th.
____ You will be graded on your familiarity and comfort level with your person.
Reading the power point to the class will result in a reduced grade. Content,
voice quality, eye contact, and interest level will be part of your grade.
____ Be prepared to answer questions about your person.
