Scholarships will be given on the basis of the student’s church involvement, school
involvement, community and other involvement, academics, and qualify and preparation of
their application. The heaviest emphasis will be placed on church and CYO involvement since
receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. The selection committee will consider how applicants
are living out their faith. This includes, but is not limited to, worshiping on Sundays and Holy
days, participating in parish activities, and encouraging other youth by example in CYO, Totus
Tuus, and other faith programs. It is the hope of the scholarship selection committee and the
Catholic committee that students strive to be Catholic young adults, not just young adults who
happen to be Catholic.
A selection committee consisting of members from the parish and local Knights of Columbus
Council will score the applications using a point system. The recipients will be announced
during the TCHS Evening of Excellence. The committee reserves the right not to award
scholarships if there are not to award scholarships if there are no applications that fulfill the
requirements.
The recipients of the parish scholarship will need to contact the parish priest to make
arrangements for the scholarship check to be sent to the school/university of attendance. The
recipients of the Christ the King Knights of Columbus scholarship will need to contact Ed
Schmeidler, Jr. to make arrangements for the check to be sent to the school/university. Please
contact Father or Mr. Schmeidler prior to August 1st.
We congratulate all seniors on their achievements and wish them a blessed, faith-filled future.
