Senior Clubs and Organizations
Registration and payment for all programs can
be processed at any City of Laurel facility during
regular business hours. Checks should be made
payable to the Mayor and City Council of
Laurel

Registration is accepted on a first come, first
served basis. Walk-in and mail in registrations
are accepted so sign up early.

Refunds are only issued if a program is
cancelled. There is a $35.00 returned check fee.
The City of Laurel welcomes the participation of

The senior adult programs listed in this brochure are
sponsored jointly through funding from the City of Laurel and
the Maryland National Park and Planning Commission.

The City of Laurel Department of Parks and
Recreation Division of Senior Services
provide recreational leisure opportunities at
multiple locations within the City of Laurel.
We are here to serve seniors fifty-five and
older as well as disabled adults. Please call

Seasoned Adults Growing Educationally
SAGE is sponsored by Prince George’s
Community College and offers many classes
designed just for seniors. Class schedules
coincide with the college schedule. For more
information email SAGE@pgcc.edu or call

pick up a brochure at the Laurel Armory or
the RJDCC. Below are a few SAGE classes.

Healthy Living-Fitness w/ Bev
This exercise class will increase flexibility
and tighten and tone muscles’ on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:00 am in the
Laurel Armory Gym.

If you need a ride to an event you must
schedule that ride with the dispatcher at the
time of registration. If you are not a
registered rider the cost is $3.00 per event,
per trip. Registration will close two weeks
prior to the event.

City of Laurel Senior Programs
Barbara Brown’s Line Dancing
Class is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30
a.m. at the Laurel Armory. This fast paced
dance class is a fun and exciting way to
exercise for a low cost of $35.00 per person,
per session.
Trips, Travels & Tours
City of Laurel Department of Parks and
Recreation Division of Senior Services trips
will leave from the Robert J. Di Pietro
Community Center at 7901 Cypress Street,
Laurel, MD. If you require additional
transportation to and from the drop off point,
please register as a van rider with the
department. The fee is $25 for the year for
curb to curb transportation within the city.
Another option is to pay the $3.00 pick up &
return per trip fee. This will get you to the
RJDCC and home again.
Seniors “N” Motion & Wandering Walkers
Please join us at the Laurel
Armory to continue walking
around the gym on Tuesdays
and Thursdays between 8:00 am
and 9:00 am. Every walker is
required to sign in at the front desk.
*A Special Note: All of our programs
require one week pre-registration.
Signing up the week of the event is not
allowed … Register Early!
Senior Gym Rates
The City of Laurel has two gyms where you
can work out. Call 301-776-6168 for more
information. Senior Resident Daily is $2.50,
Annual $72.50 and Senior Non-Resident
Daily is $7.00, Annual Pass $110.00.
Senior Transportation Update
Senior Transportation line 301-498-3384 will
open at 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, Monday
through Friday. Transportation will run from
9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Tole Painting
This free class gathers on Thursdays at the
RJDCC at 12:00 pm. All interested parties
should call Maggie at (410) 507-0919 for
more details.
Trip Waitlist
Each trip has its own waitlist, which is
generated in chronological order. If there’s a
cancellation, the first name on the list is
contacted. Please do not show up at the
departure location unless you have already
paid for the trip. You will not be allowed to
board.
Inclement Weather Policy
The City of Laurel Division of Senior Service
Transportation Service follows Prince
George’s County School closings and delays
when it comes to snow and ice. The Laurel
Armory and other city buildings will be open
contingent upon the weather. Please call
301-725-8088 for more details.
