Job Description
1.

Over the past 20 years, Adam Spiegel has produced extensively in London’s West
End as well as various tours throughout the UK and internationally. West End credits
include: Motown The Musical (Shaftesbury Theatre) Dance ‘Til Dawn (Aldwych
Theatre); Midnight Tango (Aldwych Theatre, Phoenix Theatre); Hairspray
(Shaftesbury Theatre); Sister Act (London Palladium); Fame (Aldwych Theatre and
Shaftesbury Theatre); Love Story (Duchess Theatre); Crazy for You (Novello Theatre);
High School Musical - Live on Stage! (Hammersmith Apollo); Saturday Night Fever
(Apollo Victoria); The Mysteries (Queen’s Theatre) and Birdy (Comedy Theatre). UK
touring credits include: The Producers (2015); To Kill a Mockingbird (2014 and
2015); The Mousetrap 60th anniversary tour (2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015); Dance
‘Til Dawn (2014 and 2015); Midnight Tango (2011, 2012 and 2013); Strictly Come
Dancing Live, Saturday Night Fever, the Creole Choir of Cuba, Fame, The Mysteries,
Lady Salsa, Five Guys Named Moe, High School Musical - Live on Stage! and High
School Musical 2. International touring credits include: Saturday Night Fever
(Australasian and Scandinavian tours); Fame (Scandinavian and US tours) and the
Creole Choir of Cuba (worldwide). Other theatre credits include: To Kill a
Mockingbird (Barbican Theatre); Amadeus (Wilton’s Music Hall, London); Lady Salsa
(Pleasance Theatre) and Promises, Promises (Sheffield Theatres). Adam produced
the annual Laurence Olivier Awards for the Society of London Theatre for five years
running from 2004 to 2008. Adam has also previously acted as an arts consultant
for both The Sunday Times and Tate Britain.
2.
The post of Production Assistant
Reports to:
Associate General Manager and Production Administrator

Main duties
3a.
Production general management








Assist the Associate General Manager, Production Manager and Production
Administrator in monitoring and executing all aspects of production
requirements.
Assist the Production Administrator in compiling materials for the production of
programmes, liaising with venues, commissioning editorial and rehearsal
photography and compiling the cast/creative biographies
Ensure the accuracy of all published material
Manage the company and production websites ensuring content is accurate and
up-to-date at all times
Monitor licence agreements issuing invoices and statements as necessary
Manage the provision of and all processes for show merchandise including
accounting for commissions
Create Purchase Orders, recharge and production invoices, in conjunction with
the Associate General Manager and Production Manager.
Book office and production accommodation and travel and maintaining and
supplying digs lists





Provide administration and general support to the Producer, General Manager,
and Associate General Manager
Act as PA to the Producer
Undertake all office management responsibilities
Financial control



3d.
Facilitate and monitor the supply of petty cash and banking of cheques
Keep track of all payments, payrolls, invoices, advances and settlements
maintaining accurate records, systems and logs
Assist in checking production and company invoices, and other expenditure
prior to authorisation.
General



4.
Collate production related information including press clippings for future
exploitation
Attend rehearsals and performances as required
To foster and maintain excellent working relationships with staff and creative
teams
To represent the company with diplomacy, discretion and courtesy at all times
To comply with all company policies and undertake any other reasonable duties
as required by your line manager
Principal terms and conditions
1. Full-time permanent contract, subject to successful completion of a probationary
period.
2. Remuneration and start date: will be negotiated with the successful candidate,
from £20,000 to £22,000, dependent on experience.
3. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm. Occasional evening and
weekend work is also required
4. 28 days annual leave per year worked, 8 of which must be taken on bank and
public holidays
